Listen, I am certainly no prude when it comes to music, and the kids all like it (I guess it's a big deal) but I can't get used to it. I've gone to a number of shows (we stay in back so we don't embarrass him) and I swear, the kids love it..I do have to say, the music itself is really good if you like "death metal"..thats what it's called..kind of like heavy metal on steroids..
If he quits because of his "Mommy" I swear, I am going to brain him..he makes more dough from the band than his regular job..his Mom wants him to quit annd finish college..he really cant do both..they did a mini tour of the SE this winter (Florida, Georgia, Alambama, Miss, Tenn..and they are back now.) I think he should give it another year to see what happens..if it works out, great for him..if not, back to school (he'll be a junior)..what I dont want is him 20 years from now saying 'I wonder.."

I think my son plays the same music. I hate the screeming and the names of the bands, but the guitar etc. is amazing. One of those bands just won a grammy. My son swears the kids love it to. I think so much of the music now days is computer generated... that people playing real instruments is impressive.
It was Wolfmother, an Australian band that took out the G for best heavy metal. They are pretty popular here although my 16yr old daughter prefers the death metal too.

Happy Valentines Day , Danny!! Your son is hot, must take after his Dad!! You are right, while he is young he may as well go for it and who knows what may happen. I live in Miss......where did they play here? My son plays guitar and has a friend who has just made his first cd ( Jonezetta, Indie rock) and they are doing really well. It takes awhile, but like I said while he is young what's to hold him back. I wish him luck!!
