Ot/what 8 Puppies Can Do For Your Spirit

Yesterday I helped my nephew take his 8 seven week old golden retriever puppies to the vet for shots and then back home to wait for their new owners to come pick them up.

As each puppy left we felt a little sad, you get so attached to them and start to know each different personality. But then we would hear everyone's different story of why they were taking a puppy. It was so cool to know how happy these families were going to be, and to be a part of it.

It was a great lesson for all of us, especially my eight year old son. For him to experience in other peoples joy. It was a really special day.

Nothing like a puppy.
Awww! There is nothing like little pups is there. How cute I kind of chuckled out loud when I imagine taking 8 puppies to the vet. Taking one puppy can be challanging but 8! How fun for you guys. I am a dog lover so that just sounds so sweet.

Love,
Jane

And throw a baby in there for good measure....and then get stuck in traffic....and then have one puppy get car sick.

It was so over the top, we had to laugh.

Laugh or have our heads pop off.

Aw, I want a puppy!!

Hi Grils,
Beck

Hi Beck!!!

I don't blame you, they are so darn cute. I'm keeping one for 3 weeks for my dad. He lives in Florida (I'm in Michigan) and hes coming up for my sons first communion and will take the puppy then. So for 3 weeks we get our puppy fix.

How've you been?
Hi Becks! smiling and waving. Good weather for Easter HUH!!!! Are you doing anything fun?

Redd. LMAO. I can see it all now.
Hi Ladies!!

Amy, I'm doing pretty good. Work, kids, etc. You know how it goes. Puppies are funj, but I don't suppose I'll have one any time soon. Tehy are almost like babies in the constant care they need. I have an older dog and a year old cat. We had a lot of fun with her as a kitten. My boys are nearly 18 this year so I won't be coloring eggs or doing baskets for the first time. Part of me will miss it and part won't. What all do you have planned.

1st Communion. A special time, especailly around Easter. I remember it well. Time passes so quickly. It seems like yesterday. My boys are probably a half foot taller now.

Jane! Yes, some nice weather! Hard to believe a week ago I had 7" of new snow at work. I don't have too much planned. Apparently I was a little too free with the invitations this year and everyone has accepted. Company tonight, tomorrow and Sunday. I need to be grateful there are that many people willing to come over I guess, lol. A busy weekend, no doubt. Are you roiginally from your area of the state?

Happy Easter you lovely ladies. You make this place worth coming back to!

Beck
Becks Oh yeah Born and raised .. I only moved around the block from my mom (all three times) So I have lived in square block of Utah County my whole life LOL. No wonder I am so fouled up. I am not doing the easter thing either the kids are with thier dad. It's just gonna be me and my dog. :) I am happy I at least have her. Maybe I will do some yard work and try to stay outside. That will be nice to have company at your place I am glad you are doin so well.

Love,
Jane
I love this thread!!!! thank you amy for posting it, puppies, dogs, our kids, Easter, these are all my thoughts as well today.
Amy you spirit is healing! i can see it in your postings lately....
What a blessing to read your posts these past few days and to see "light" coming out of your spirit.
amy i can only "imagine" the pain and suffering you have endured...
you are so strong and i look up to you for that.
you are such a beautiful person, who has alot of the same values as i,you love the Lord, your children and dogs! the 3 most important things in my life and the only things in my life that keep me wanting to breathe and live another day.
you lost one of those blessings in your life for which we do not understand... maybe one day it will be revealed to you for why you had to endure losing Jack.
But i just want to tell you today how much i admire you for your strength,
Jesus suffered today, this Good firday, He thought the Lord had forsaken him as He is hanging from a cross suffering all of our sins....
i can only imagine what He must of felt, but God did not forsake him for Jesus had to suffer for us so that we may never be forsaken.
Jesus took on the lonely heartache of the cross as He paid the price for our sins......
Jesus was abandoned on the cross to reconcile us with God.
on dark days when we feel abandoned by everyone, take heart. Jesus your Suffering Savior, walks with you every second of every day.
His presence in His word and Sacraments shows us we are never alone.
That word never alone, i was told at NA meetings that is what NA stands for "never alone"
That is what i read from my "portals of prayer" this morning...
It uplifted me and i wanted to share that with you and for everyone on the forum.
My "higher power" has spoken to me today, this Good Friday.
now we await the glorious resurrection!
jane and beck good morning to you also.
I Love DOGS!!!!!!! i have 3!!!
trixie is my little fox terrier she is 15!!!
ginger is my shetland sheepdog, she is 12!
heidi is my german shephard, she is 8!
bun bun is my black bunny with white boots, she is 4, a sweet netherlands dwarf! i think i might bring her to church or work to show the children the real Easter bunny!
and last but not least....
tommy, my black and white kitty i rescued from the pound 3 yrs ago!
all my zebra finches have passed away... i've had them for years they kept making babies, how cute that was to experience!
i separated males and females and as the years went by they all eventually passed away.
a few months ago i had only one left :(
he was so lonely, so i gave him to my girlfriend at work who loves birds! she has cages of all kinds of birds in her home.
so she came over and took my last little zebra finch and introduced them to her zebra finches!
the next morning my little birdie was attacked during the night, her finches did not like this intruder, so she put "mr peeps" as she named him alone in a cage so he could recover, then she gave him one of her females and they are in love!!!! i get weekly reports about mr peeps and i am so happy that he is happy!
I have two sons 19 and 22 years old and for 22 yrs i have made Easter baskets, and you know what??? i still make them a basket every year!, i hard boiled some eggs and they usually dye them as they have their whole lives, but this year they are too busy with jobs and college, so i will dye them myself.
How dare them grow up!!!! lol! lol!
happy Easter to all of you and God bless each and everyone of you, i hope you all have a peaceful and blessed weekend with family and loved ones as we celebrate our Saviors resurrection! love jewels/julie
Thank you Jewels,

That was a lovely Easter message and to it I say Amen. Thank God for a risen Saviour and all He brings us. My sons have been on a band trip and won't be back until tomorrow afternoon, which is the only reason I was thinking of not doing the traditional baskets and eggs. I'm a little sad about foregoing it, and may still change my mind. When I pick them up tomorrow, I was going to take them shopping for a gift, and I think that'll make them happy. Then I'll pick up my mother for an overnight stay. I won't be going to the Tennebrae service tonight as I'll have company, but I thank you for reminding me of Good Friday. I have kept it in my heart today.

I hope your Easter blessings abound this year Jewels. Have a wonderful day.

Beck

you sweetheart

It sounds like everyone has some Easter plans.

Beck, I know time does fly by so fast, especially when its our kids lives we look at. My mom used to say how do the years fly by and some days drag on forever? I know you must miss your boys. You're a great mom Beck, you did good by those boys and I'm sure they know and appreciate it.

Jewels, thank you for that Easter message. I hope you enjoy dying the eggs...even before I had kids I would dye eggs as an adult. Its just part of Easter.

Kim,
Enjoy your quiet day with your husband, sometimes those holidays are the best ones. Mine will be quiet too, just me and my husband and the kids. A ham and some side dishes.

Aww Thumper, of course you love puppies...you're too good of a spirit to not adore puppies. Don't you just love the way their breath smells? Thank you for your prayers sweet lady.

Happy Easter ladies!!
Hi Kim,

Happy Easter! It has been awhile since we caught up. I do follow your life on the board though and I'm so happy to see you doing so well. Down to 2 mg's now? That is excellent. It has been a real pleasure to watch you heal and grow. Your quiet Easter sounds wonderful. Mine will be as well. I have a nice man coming for dinner tonight, but have decided take-out will have to do since I'm cooking the rest of the weekend.
Happy Easter my friend. Enjoy your morning egg hunt and the blessings of the day!

Love, Beck
Hey Amy..isn't puppy breath just the best???? lol Probably not as wonderful as the top of Ava's head but pretty darn good. I remember the story about the puppies, glad he found homes for all of them. xxxooo
So adorable..I wish I could get one for Kearra!

What a wonderful lesson for kids.

I had Kearra come home with a kitten some lady gave her and a bunch of kids while walking the neighbors puppy. If I could find this women I would ring her neck!

What kind of a person gives a stray cat to a bunch of kids???

Kearra has been so upset now for 2 days because the kitty will go to the shelter. I just can't have a cat or a dog right now. It wouldn't be fair to the animal!

Enjoy the puppy, you just might end up with another one! LOL
