Ow Would You Like To Be Treated??

I HAVE JUST BEGUN AS A N ADDICTIONS COUNSELOR. I SEE MANY COUNSELOR/NURSES WHO SEEM TO BE THERE JUST FOR THE MONEY. THEY TELL ME NOT TO BE KIND OR THOUGHTFUL TO ADDICTS, THEY WILL JUST USE YOU. I WANT TO REALLY HEAR FROM SOME OF YOU OUT THERE WHO HAVE BEEN IN INSTITUTIONAL SETTINGS AND HOW YOU REALLY WANT TO BE TREATED. ARE YOU REALLY THAT DEVIOUS THAT IS SOMEONE IS REALLY TRYING TO HELP YOU YOU WOULD STAB THE NURSE IN THE BACK(NOT LITERALLY). I TRULY WANT TO HELP ANYONE I CAN AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE ADDICT IS FEELING WHEN PUT INTO AN INSTITUTIONAL SITUATION. HOW DO YOU WANT TO BE TREATED, REALLY. THANKS
Luvan,
You'll probably get more responses to your posts if you'll STOP TYPING IN ALL CAPS and try to use a little bit of punctuation.

How would you feel if you picked up a brochure and read what you wrote?

Thanks.
I was scared. I was devious. I wanted someone I could trust........I was at rock bottom and wanted to get help, not yelled at. I understand that I had to broken down(I did a pretty good job of that on my own) to be built back up!!!!

When I was at Fairview(st mary's), there were many different types of personalities and even though each had a similar problem in that they were
chemically dependent(or alcohol)(or both!!!) each of us was different.
