but my kids will never know what its like to fly a kite into high voltage power lines
Michelle! I have four 13 year-olds coming over this afternoon for D&D (that's six total under the age of 16). If they're as loud as they were last week, I'm sending them outside with a kite.
oh - thanks so much "paralegal" with the weather update, and for making such a pleasant sunday morning turn to slush; filling my already out of balanced mind with worry of a noreaster! you know i suffer from Post Traumatic Snow Disorder, don't you?
on second thought, perhaps i will finally have a chance to meet jim cantore?
Stay off the roads if you can. I hate to say it, but better you then me. We can see the ground here for the 1st time in about 2 months.
Michelle, the rabbits will do in a pinch, but if they're egg producers, you might want to kleep one.
Good luck with all the boys Gina. I love a room full of teenagers, but that's just me. You just grab the back of their hair and bang thier heads on a table if they don't behave. It really works.
I heard that new Ken Watanabe movie is good (and even if it's not, it's good eye candy).
Lord, when the boys were over the other week, I kept expecting plaster to fall off the ceiling. Their new creative writing teacher told me, enthusiastically, that she was so THRILLED to have ALL of them in her CLASS! All I could do was shake my head sadly at her. She's so young, LOL.
You saw Notes on a Scandal, didn't you? How was that? Allan's teaching here this afternoon anyway so I might just set both aircleaners up to high and run catch the show (with a girlfriend). LOL, Sharonn once said that she used testosterone cream for perimenopause. All she'd have to do is stick her head into my family room this p.m. and inhale deeply. That'd fix her right up.
I loved the book! And I still use "dirty bird". Then she hobbles him. Ouch! My sons are going to be 18 this year and "Jackass 2" is their fav. They can handle "Misery!"
Actually, I'm looking to go out to a movie today with a friend . Don't know if I'm up to the new "Hannibal Rising", or whatever the name is. Saw "The Departed" a couple of weeks ago. Fine movie there!
"Notes from a Scandal" is excellent. Outstanding performances. I guess I'll get a paper. I was supposed to go last night with Terry, but felt too crappy. My Dr. put me on HRT on Friday and I hate it. I haven't slept hardly and have a boulder sized zit on my chin. I thought it was supposed to make you feel better. I felt fine before, but he insisted.
Anyone with this experience with hormone replacement therapy??
I think Sharonn and Jendalyn both know something about HRT. Sorry I can't help. They took everything but the ovaries so I'm still cooking.
And I'm late again. I don't think Notes from a Scandal is showing anymore. If you want mindless entertainment, I've heard that The Queen is good and Helen Mirren is worth watching in any movie.
I have never heard of such a thing! Do they make refrigerator-sized appliances for large dogs? LMAO, it IS a great idea! I'm nearly ashamed at how spoiled my pets are. My cats have their own room and the dogs have free roam while I'm gone. They destroy the house! I end up piling everything in my bathroom. I recently hired my sister to clean. She told my mom she found Jimmy Hoffa in my bathroom. All she said to me was: "The irony of finding a Feng Shui book in the bottom of your bathroom "pile" was not lost on me."
They are forecasting 3 inches of snow, so I believe I'll skip the grocery store today.
She told my mom she found Jimmy Hoffa in my bathroom. All she said to me was: "The irony of finding a Feng Shui book in the bottom of your bathroom "pile" was not lost on me."
ROFLMAO!!!
This sister of yours, Atlas, I like her, I like her...
The cosmopolitan dog potty! LMAO. It actually would be nice during rain storms. Yorkies have very fine hair and even a quick trip outside soaks them.
My sister is the queen of instant, sarcastic one liners. She's hilarious when she's pissed. Some of the stuff she comes up with is way out there. You would probably like her. She has an impressive vocabulary and can tell people off and be gone before they realize they have been insulted.
yes, yes, yes - please go see "notes". patrick marber who wrote the adapted screenplay from zoe heller's book: what was she thinking, notes on a scandal, is brilliant. dame judi, imho, this is one of her best performances and i have been a judi dench fan for many years.
oddly, i watched a movie last week, via netflix, titled "asylum", which starred natasha richardson and ian mckellen (i highly recommend this too if you are into the psychology of passion). patrick marber wrote the screenplay for that too. i do believe patrick marber is a talent that i will look a little closer at as far upcoming movies/screenplay are concerned.
after watching "notes" i found an interview with the book's author, zoe heller, and how she recently appeared on the "okra winfrey" show. the good brit (now living in nyc) that heller is was amazed at how the audience (mostly female were outraged over the teacher and her liaison with one of her students) was very gracious with the criticism hurled her way. that was not the intent or main theme of this story and knowing the little i do about you, gina, i'm sure if you see "notes" you will discern this and understand what i mean.
she's getting ready to "hobble" him beck! puuuuuuuuuuuuuke.
i'd like to see "the departed" too. think i'll go shower and make it another movie afternoon.
