Permanent Hangover

I've currently been sober this time for 6 weeks. Once I made it for 9 years, but always managed to go back to drinking. I'm 50 now ,been drinking (and other things) since I was 16. I don't know if it's due to brain damage or what but I feel as tho I have a permanent hangover. Feel sluggish all the time, trouble concentrating. Anybody else ever feel this way? The thought of spending the rest of my life like this is overwelming. Caffeine helps but I think I am compounding my problem with it. Probably irreversible.
i'm sorry you are havin a hard time. i feel the same way, always tired and low energy, and depressed. i believe its our bodies learning to function normaly again. with out our D.O.C our bodies have to learn everything over again. how to feel and how to cope with stress. we have been supressing everything with the drugs/booze, and now its all flowing out. its hard to cope with, the low energy will get better as time goes on. and so will the depression. good luck to you
