I have been on Hydrocodone for 7 months now - I cant seem to function anymore without it - I need it to sleep and to start my day - I get very very nervous when my pill bottle gets low - How long will it take me to get off this and will I be able to work at work? I ran out one time and missed 2 days of work because I couldnt even get out of bed...
tx,
The good news is that 7 months is not that long. How much (mg) do you take daily? Most likely you are looking at 3-5 days of a flu. You will not be able to get a good night sleep for a bit. For me it was only 4-5 nights. Others have trouble up to a few weeks. It is so important that you stop NOW. There is no other way to manage this other than you can not take ANY pills anymore. But there are LOTS of people who have done this. Hydro is a slippery slope. Best of luck. Let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

Well I take 10MG/325MG between 2 and 6 of these usually about 5 but I try not to take any during the early day and wait till I am on my way home and within a 5 hour period take all those - I am just worried I will miss work and I have no time left unless I take a Short Term Disability for a couple weeks. Do I talk to my Dr. what should I do?
tx,
To be honest with you I think you can most likely quit with moderate w/d's. The big problem is staying clean. I was taking twice as much as you and my w/d's really only lasted 3-4 days and I had to take care of my little one. Now, everyone is different but it is critical you stop now. You are on the highway to Hell. The w/d's will not be fun but it is doable. You might only miss 1-2 days of work. The problem is your sleep will most likely be all messed up so you will be tired and have some depression stuff. But you really need a plan to not go back in 2 weeks or 2 months. I did not and relapsed. I am clean again but have a health respect for the fact that I can not just take a couple pills ever again. I need to be a gatekeeper with myself and not make any excuses. So, It sounds like the mental stuff is going to be your monster. There is alot of experience on this board so I encourage you to post.

Tx, welcome. What you'll experience is moderate withdrawals, you'll have stomach cramps, headaches, your bones will ache, yawning, sneezing (some do) nausea, diahrreah. You might be able to work through these, with the help of, advil, or other daytime cold medicing, immodium, vitamin B-12, bananas, and move around whenever possible, because when you sit still, you get stiffer, these withdrawals should last a few days, maybe 3-5 days. Good luck to you, and sending you some prayers...Kim
