Would you please pray for my uncle. I just came back from the hospital where he is in intensive care. He went into the hospital for help with a psychiatric problem before it got too bad. He was taken off his medicine and put on new. His personality and values changed. He acted like he had dementia overnight, and this morning they called in the family. He had 2 or 3 heartattacks this morning, they put him on medicine to bring his blood pressure up but when it runs out (tonight) they can't give him any more and the family will have to made decisions. He is the father of 6 grown children who are going crazy trying to figure out how this could happen to their dear father. They had no idea this was going to happen so they didn't even get a chance to say goodbye. It's not looking good. Please pray for wisdom for his doctors, strength for his family, and above all healing for him. His name is Ed and he is a very responsible and caring man. Thanks so much.
Love,
Susan
Sorry to hear about your uncle. Will be praying for him.
Sorry to hear about your uncle, I will pray for him.
wow, yes we will pray.
Hi, everyone
Thanks for the prayers. I just wanted to give you an update. We were encouraged earlier today, but not tonight. His coloring was much better today and his blood pressure was good, BUT the hospital was asking for some guidance for extraordinary means because his kidneys aren't working. My aunt, who is a nurse, asked for some tests to know what is going on inside. They found a HUGE blood clot in his chest...she said she's NEVER seen one so large. They said that the scan of the brain function, which usually has hills and valleys, was basically a straight line. (I hope I"m passing this on accurately...I didn't go in myself tonight...my sister did. I went this afternoon.) Since he is very heavily sedated, they decided to remove the sedatives and see if he is responsive. If he isn't, my aunt said that she's not going to approve the dialysis because he never wanted to exist on tubes and machines. My aunt was very shakey tonight and crying very hard along with her children. Please continue to keep them all in prayer. He is only 66 years old. Thanks!

Dear Susan, I am sorry to hear about your Uncle. Your family must feel like you are in some kind of whirlwind. My thoughts and prayers will be with you this evening. Dora
Hi, everyone
Thank you for all your prayers, unfortunately for us Jesus decided to call my uncle home this afternoon, the day of his youngest daughter's birthday. I will tell you what happened as I understand from what other people have told me.
He was a little better yesterday morning - his blood pressure was good and his coloring was greatly improved - although they told the family he was far from out of the woods. My sister went in late last night and by then they had gotten some very bad news. They had asked my aunt for some direction as far as "extraordinary means" if something would go wrong. My aunt (who is a nurse) said she needed to know some more information before she would know how to answer that. She said that my uncle often told her that he didn't want to be kept alive by machines, but sometimes they are needed for a short time to save a life. They wanted to put my uncle on dialysis because his kidneys weren't functioning. They did some tests and scans, and found a HUGE mass in his chest. Some said it was a blood clot, some referred to it as an embolism (sp?). Either way, it was causing problems for him to breathe properly and get enough oxygen. One of the nurses said that before he had become immobile, they found him on the floor blue. They weren't sure for how long, but probably it was about 15 minutes. The scan of the brain showed no activity. They decided, since they have been keeping him HEAVILY sedated, to remove the sedatives and see if he was responsive. He wasn't. The doctor told the family that there was no question as to his fate - death was eminent. They let each of the family members have some time alone with him, and then they removed the tubes and machines. Someone was standing by to give him a shot of morphine immediately if he seemed to have pain or was struggling, but they said that he went very peacefully. He will be greatly missed, but I'm sure his family members in heaven, especially his son John who passed away 21 years ago at the age of 21 and my dad, have welcomed him home. Thanks again for your concern and your prayers!
