Poppy Tea, 5 Days And Going..well Weak.

Dear Chris,

Welcome fellow poppy tea drinker. Yes, I used it for over two years. I am now 8 months sober (tomorrow). It took me several attempts, but l I am sober today and very grateful. I don't know what your dosage (if you want to call it that) was, but I had a full week of terrible withdrawal. Exercise is the best to start feeling better. Tim and Bikeman know what they are talking about!! I too, am self-employed and that is why I started the garbage in the first place, gave me evergy to put in 15 hour days, six days a week. But, it had a price, my business suffered in the long run. I spent a lot of time just running and moving, but accomplishing nothing. I was busy being busy!! The energy thing has been tough for me too, but it does return. I have struggled mostly with motivation; and am still working on that. I have the energy to do lots of things, but no motivation, if that makes sense.

Congrats on taking back control of your life.

If you have any questions, please ask and I can try and answer.

Take care

Faith
Chris, good for you- I really have got to admire you, it did not take a train wreck (with u as the conductor and the victim squished against the wall ) for you to open your eyes and be honest with yourself.

I think I can safely say, it took more for many of us to make a life decision. I too used to own my own business. That was also a big part that led to a major relapse, and a triple habit & I thought I was ok- primarly because I took care of my family, paid my bills, etc , etc. The fact that my life was at risk (besides from drugs for some insane reason i felt safe to areas at night that I had no business being in). Sure I was a good dad, but I co uld have been a dead dad- and I couldnt even see that.

So again, I admire your actions.

It sounds like you are fighting ur fatigue pretty good & carrying on. This being said, I have a friendly warning if u find it applicable.

YOUR LIFE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU HAVE. (now im not talking about children & significant other, etc.) Without you, your business is irrelevant to you.

If you find you need to close shop, or slow things down, or whatever, there really is a way. THINK ABOUT IT.

IM ONLY SAYING THIS IF YOU FEEL THE NEED TO TAKE TIME OFF FOR RECOVERY. I think you could make a mistake if ending your fatigue becomes overly important to you. PLEASE DONT TAKE THIS WRONG, I'M only saying what Im saying baised on me and the decisions I made which were not necessarily the best. (Something a long the line of "I dont have that much trouble with stimuylants, so why not use those to get over the edge..") It doesnt sound like you would think that way, but just in case, I thought Id mention this.

Sometimes, when u are tired, it is good to simply find a way to slow down and rest. By the way, most people have the opposite problem when going thru wds, they cant sleep & that is terrible. The tiredness doesnt hit until the worse is over.

God bless you. Congradulations. I think ultimately you will be able to help a lot of people.
