Good morning to all.
Something I came across awhile back on Meditation.
Meditation On The Word Guidance
When I meditated on the word 'Guidance',
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.
I remembered that God's will is a lot like dancing.
When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music, and
everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes and lets the other lead,
both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle clues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or
by pressing lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness, and
attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance
and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word 'GUIDANCE'.
When I saw 'G', I thought of God,
followed by 'u' and 'I' and 'dance':
GOD, YOU AND I DANCE.
This statement is what guidance means to me.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing
to let go and let GOD LEAD.

Hi to All.
I read this piece on pray and would like to share it with you I am not sure if this is the right forum for it but here gos.
Is Prayer Good for Your Health?
Prayer is of compelling interest to Americans. Oprah talks about it on her TV show. Half a dozen books on the value of prayer and meditation have made the best-seller lists. It's good for the soul, but is it good for your health?
In a report published in the July 2000 issue of Journal of Gerontology: Medical Sciences, researchers from Duke University Medical Centre studied the survival rates of older adults. The researchers found that healthy older adults who participate in private religious activity -- prayer, meditation or bible study -- "appear to have a survival advantage over those who do not."
Much scientific research points to the health benefits of certain forms of meditation that involve repetitive prayers or mantras. When meditating, subjects sit quietly, clear their minds and repeatedly utter a silent phrase or prayer. It could be, "May the best possible outcome prevail," "May God bless my family" or "Peace."
Studies show that such meditation can reduce oxygen use, increase blood flow, decrease blood pressure, relax muscles, lower secretion of stress hormones, improve brain functioning and help remedy insomnia. These health benefits often persist for several hours after meditating.
To reap the health benefits of meditative prayer, practice it regularly, says Dharma Singh Khalsa, M.D., a Tucson-based physician and author of "Meditation as Medicine". Instead of praying just once a day at a special time," he says, "pray throughout the day when you're in a traffic jam, playing with your children or working at the office."

PRAYER OF ABANDONEMENT
Father, I abandon myself into Your hands;
Do with me whatever You will.
Whatever You may do, I thank You.
I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only Your will be done in me,
And in all Your creatures.
I wish no more than this, O lord.
Into Your hands I commend my spirit;
I offer it to You, Lord, and so need to give myself,
to surrender myself into Your hands,
Without reserve and with boundless confidence,
For You are my Father.
Amen.
Hi everyone what a great day to be Sober I am going away for a week so I thought I would post a few prays I like. That have helped me in recovery .Hope you can take something from them.
The Set Aside Prayer
God,
Please help me set aside everything I think I know
about myself, my disease, these steps, and especially You;
for an open mind and a new experience with myself, my disease,
these Steps, and especially You.
The Remind Me Prayer
Dear God, Help us remember that the
jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is likely a
single mother who worked nine hours that day and is
rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do
the laundry and spend a few precious moments with
her children.
Help us to remember that the pierced,
tattooed, disinterested young man who can't make
change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college
student, balancing his apprehension over final exams
with his fear of not getting his student loans for
next Term.
Remind us, God, that the scary looking bum,
begging for money in the same spot every day (who
really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions
that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares.
Help us to remember that the couple
walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and
blocking our shopping progress are savouring this
moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she
got back last week, this will be the last year that
they go shopping together.
Higher Power, remind us each day that, of
all the gifts you give us, the greatest gift is
love. It is not enough to share that love with those
we hold dear. Open our hearts not to just those who
are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow
to judge and quick to forgive, show patience,
empathy and love.
What Do We Expect?
The man whispered, "God, speak to me,"
and a meadowlark sang.
But, the man did not hear.
So the man yelled "God, speak to me!"
And, the thunder rolled across the sky.
But, the man did not listen.
The man looked around and said, "God let me see you!"
And a star shined brightly.
But the man did not notice.
And, the man shouted, "God show me a miracle!"
And, a life was born.
But, the man did not know.
So, the man cried out in despair,
"Touch me God, and let me know you are here."
Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man.
But, the man brushed the butterfly away
and walked on....
Don't miss out on a blessing
just because it isn't packaged
the way that you expect.
Cya all when I get back .Your Wanted Needed and Loved ...God Bless

Hi everyone I have a lot of Prayers I have utilised since coming into the fellowship of AA and each prayer appeared when I guess I needed them the most. It would be impossible for me to say and use each one in my day .But each one I have used at some time in the 13 plus years I have been in recovery. I just like to share them with you; you can take or leave what you like.
Native American AA Prayer
Oh Great Spirit whose voice in the wind I hear,
And whose breath gives life to all the world -
Hear me.
Before you I come
One of your many children,
I am small and weak
Your strength and wisdom I need
Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold the sunset.
Make my heart respect all you have made,
And my ears sharp to hear Your voice.
Make me wise that I may know all you have taught my people.
The lessons You have hidden in every rock.
I seek strength, not to be superior to my brother,
But to fight my greatest enemy - myself.
Make me ready to stand before You with clean and straight eyes,
So when life fades as the fading sunset,
May my spirit stand before You without shame.

Good morning to all.
Here is a little action prayer that helps me get my priorities in place and helps me to get on with what needs to be done now.
Because if I look at the big picture of what needs to be done to today I might not get started. First Things First.
Dear Higher Power, remind me:
To tidy up my own mind,
To keep my sense of values straight,
To sort out the possible and the impossible,
To turn the impossible over to you,
And get busy on the possible.
God BlessLionelC

Good morning to everyone.Just something I like
An Old Timer`s Prayer
God, keep me from the habit of thinking that I must volunteer in every meeting no matter what the topic.
Keep my mind free from the recital of endless details and give me wings to get to the point.
Remind me to guard confidences and to keep still when I feel that it is necessary to share information "just for some one's own good." Release me from the need to straighten out everybody else's thinking and program.
God, I ask for the grace to listen to newcomers. Please help me to remember the patience with which others listened to me when I was new.
Please seal my lips to giving advice, and help me to remember to share my experience, strength, and hope. Remind me that my purpose is to fit myself to be of maximum service to You and the people around me.
Help me to remain teachable, God. Teach me (again!) the lesson that, occasionally, it is possible that I may be wrong and remind me of the freedom that I gain when I am able to promptly admit it and make amends where necessary.
Help me to remember the difference between making amends and saying I'm sorry.
Help me to be a worker among workers, a friend among friends, and an addict among addicts. Keep me from being a bleeding deacon, God, and help me to walk the path towards being an elder statesman. Keep me ever mindful that I cannot manage my own life. I don't want to be a saint, God, show me the way to seek you so that I may continue to grow along spiritual lines.
Remind me to put Rule 62 into practice in my life. It is so easy to take myself too seriously. Keep me free of gossip, character assassination, and judgment. Remind me that although I have humbly asked, my character defects and shortcomings arise when I least expect them.
Help me to walk with serendipity, to see good things in unexpected places and talents in unexpected people and give me the grace to tell them so. Help me to see that You love each of Your children, and that You do not need my opinion of them or suggestions on what they might deserve.
Have a great 24 God Bless

Good morning to All .
Its 7:20am Fri 24th June as I am posting this I feel good because I have been given another day .I woke up today knowing where I have been and what I done the night before, I couldnt always say that. I thank God as I try to understand Him for giving me this day and I am grateful all of you are apart of it.
A Prayer from one who is willing,
but does not yet believe
I want desperately to refrain from using alcohol and drugs.
I am willing to follow the path taken by those who are already sober.
They say I must come to believe in a Spiritual Power.
I would like to do that.
So, here I go..
Dear Spirit,
It is not for me to say there is no God, but
I do not know of your existence. Please reveal yourself to me.
I do not know your name. Please tell me what to call You.
I do not know your nature. Please help me to not worry about that right now.
I do not know your church.
Please help me not to be concerned with theology
until, if ever, You think it is important to me.
I do not know how to pray.
Please teach me.
I ask that my prejudice about things spiritual be removed.
I ask that I be willing to be willing to accept the reality that is You.
Help me to learn from those who already know You.
Above all, though, at this time, keep me sober.
May this beginning be the beginning of my knowing You.
Help me to be willing always to see and know You.
Let me see Your works.
Let me be open to Your working within me.
I invite You to be alive within me.
Please show me Your path for me.
Please help me to climb onto Your path.
Please turn me in the right direction, and
Please prod me gently to move toward You.
Help me to pray better next time, and
Let that be soon.
Thank You.
God Bless All.

Hi to Everyone.
Havent been in room much lately .Theres a lot of other things happening at the moment .But heres a prayer thats a little different hope you like it
Five finger Prayer
1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the priminister, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Good morning to All.
In my recovery one of the hardest things Ive had to learn is humility yet it has brought me more piece of mind than I could have thought possible. And through humility and prayer most days .I have piece of mind rather than a mind in pieces. And like most other things I have to practise humility on a daily basis.
Humility Prayer
God, I am far too often influenced by what others think of me.
I am always pretending to be either richer or smarter or nicer than I really am.
Please prevent me from trying to attract attention.
Dont let me gloat over praise on one hand or be discouraged by criticism on the other.
Nor let me waste time weaving imaginary situations in which the most heroic, charming, witty person present is myself.
Show me how to be humble of heart, like you.

Good morning to ALL.
Its a wet morning here in Sydney Australia today where having some much needed rain .And today I am just blessed to have been given another day. And today I know who to thank for it. God as I try to understand Him and AA. And those people who put up with me for so long. Those who seen some hope in me where I couldnt. What a great day to be sober and I intend to enjoy it.
Atmosphere of Grace
Those of us who have come to make regular use of prayer would no more do without it than we would refuse air, food, or sunshine.
And for the same reason. When we refuse air, light, or food, the body suffers. And when we turn away from meditation and prayer, we likewise deprive our minds, our emotions, and our intuitions of vitally needed support.
As the body can fail its purpose for lack of nourishment, so can the soul. We all need the light of God's reality, the nourishment of His strength, and the atmosphere of His grace.
To an amazing extent the facts of A.A. life confirm this ageless truth.
God Bless .LionelC

An "Interactive"Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in Heaven....
YES?
Don't interrupt me. I'm praying....
BUT YOU CALLED ME
Called you? I didn't call you. I'm praying.
Our Father who art in Heaven....
THERE YOU DID IT AGAIN
Did what?
Called Me. You said, "Our Father who art in Heaven.."
But I didn't mean anything by it. I was, you know, just saying my prayers for the day. I always say the Lord's Prayer. It makes me feel good, kind of like getting my duty done.
All right. Go on....
Hallowed be thy name.
Hold it. What do you mean by that?
By what?
By "Hallowed be thy name.".....
It means....it means....good grief, I don't know what it means. How should I know? It's just part of the prayer. By the way, what does it mean?
It means "Honored, Holy! Wonderful."
Hey, that makes sense. I never thought about what "Hallowed" meant before...
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Do you really mean that?
Sure, why not?
What are you going to do about it?
Doing? Nothing, I guess. I just think it would be neat if you got control of everything down here like you have up there.
Have I got control of you?
Well, I go to church.
That isn't what I asked you. What about that habit of lust you have? And your bad temper? You've really got a problem there, you know. And then there's the way you spend your money ...... all on yourself. And what about the kinds of books you read?
Stop picking on me! I'm just as good as some of the rest of those phonies at the church.
Excuse me .... I thought you were praying for my will to be done. If that is to happen, it will have to start with the ones who are praying for it. Like you, for example.
Oh, all right! I guess I do have some hang-ups. Now that you mention it, I could probably name some others.
So could I.
I haven't thought about it until now, but I really would like to cut out some of those things. I'd like to, you know, be really free.
Good, now we're getting somewhere. We'll work together .... you and I. Some victories can truly be won. I'm proud of you.
Look Lord, I need to finish up here. This is taking a lot longer than it usually does....
Give us this day our daily bread.
You need to cut down on the bread too ... You're overweight as it is.
Hey, wait a minute! What is this, "Criticize Me Day?" Here I was doing my religious duty, and all of a sudden you break in and remind me of all my hangups.
Praying is a dangerous thing. You could wind up changed you know.
That's what I'm trying to get across to you. You called me, and here I am. It's too late to stop now. Keep on praying. I'm interested in the next part of your prayer .................... Well, go on.
I'm scared to.
Scared? Of what?
I know what you'll say.
Try me and see.
Forgive us our offenses as we forgive those who offend us.
What about Mark?
See I knew it! I knew you would bring him up! Why, he's told lies about me, cheated me out of money .... He never paid back that debt he owes me. I've sworn to get even.
But your prayer ...... What about your prayer?
I didn't mean it.
Well, at least you're honest. But it's not much fun carrying the load of bitterness around inside is it?
No, but I'll feel better as soon as I get even. Boy, have I made some plans for ol' Mark! He'll wish he never did me any harm.
You won't feel any better. You'll feel worse. Revenge isn't sweet. Think of how unhappy you are already. But I can change all that.
You can? How?
Forgive Mark. Then I'll forgive you. Then the hate and sin will be Mark's problem and not yours... You may lose the money, but it will be settled in your heart.
But Lord, I can't forgive Mark.
Then I can't forgive you.
Oh, you're right! You always are. And more than I want revenge on Mark, I want to be right with you ............... All right! I forgive him. Help him to find the right road in life, Lord. He's bound to be awfully miserable, now that I think about it. Some day, some way, show him the right way.
There now! How do you feel?
Hmmmmmm .... not bad. Not bad at all, In fact I feel pretty great. You know, I don't think I'll have to go to bed uptight tonight for the first time since I can't remember. Maybe I won't be so tired from now on because I'm not getting enough rest.
You're not through with your prayer ..... Go on.
Oh, all right .....
Do not let us enter into temptation, but deliver us from error.
Good .... Good, I'll do that. Just don't put yourself in a place where you can be tempted.
What do you mean by that?
Quit hanging around the wrong places, watching inappropriate movies and television, listening to sinful conversations. Change some of your friendships. Some of your so-called friends are beginning to get to you. They'll have you completely involved in wrong things before long. Don't be fooled. They advertise they're having fun, but for you it would be ruin. Don't use me for an escape hatch.
I don't understand.
Sure you do, You've done it ..... lots of times. You get caught in a bad situation, you get into trouble and then you come running to me. "Lord, help me out of this mess, and I promise you I'll never do it again." You remember some of those bargains you tried to make with me?
Yes, and I'm ashamed Lord. I really am. I'm sorry Lord, I really am. Up until now I thought if I just prayed the Lord's prayer every day then I could do what I liked. I didn't expect anything to happen like it did.
Go ahead .... Finish your prayer.
Oh yes ....
For Thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Do you know what would bring me glory? What would make me really happy?
No, but I'd like to know. I want to please you. I can see what a mess I've made of my life, and I can see how great it would be to really be one of your followers.
You just answered the question.
I did?
Yes, the one thing that would bring me glory is to have people like you truly love me. And I can see that happening between us. Now that some of these old sins are exposed and out of the way .... well, there's no telling what we can do together.
Lord, let's see what we can make of me, OK?
Yes, let's see .....
God Bless All...

TWELVE*STEP*PRAYER
FIRST STEP PRAYER: Dear God, I admit that I am powerless over my addiction. I admit that my life is unmanageable when i try to control it. Help me to understand the true meaning of powerlessness. Remove from me all denial of my addiction.
SECOND STEP PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I know in my heart that only You can restore me to sanity, I humbly ask that You remove all twisted thought and addictive behavior from me this day. Heal my spirit and restore in me a clear mind.
THIRD STEP PRAYER: God, I offer myself to Thee, to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of bondage of self, that I may better do thy will. Take away my difficulties. That victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love and Thy way of Life. May I do Thy will always.
FORTH STEP PRAYER: Dear God, It is I who has made my life a mess, have done it, but I cannot undo it. My mistakes are mine and I will begin a searching and fearless moral inventory. I will write down my wrongs. But I will also include that which is good. I pray for the strength to complete this task.
FIFTH STEP PRAYER: Higher Power, My inventory has shown me who I am, yet I ask for Your help in admitting my wrongs to another person and to You. Assure me and be with me, in this step, for without this step, I cannot progress in my recovery. With Your help, I can do this and I will do it.
SIXTH STEP PRAYER: Dear God, I am ready for Your help in removing from me the defects of character which I now realize are an obstacle to my recovery. Help me to continue being honest with myself and guide me towards mental and spiritual health.
SEVENTH STEP PRAYER: My Creator, I am now willing that You have all of me, good and bad. I pray that You now remove from me every single defect of character which stands in the way of my usefullness to You and my fellows. Grant me strength, as I go out from here to do Your bidding.
EIGHTH STEP PRAYER: Higher Power, I ask Your help in making my list of all those I have harmed, I will take responsibility for my mistakes and be forgiving to others as You are forgiving to me. Grant me the willingness to begin my restitution. This I pray.
NINTH STEP PRAYER: Higher Power, I pray for the right attitude to make my amends, being ever mindful not to harm others in the process. I ask for Your guidance in making indirect amends by staying abstinent, helping others and growing in spiritual progress.
TENTH STEP PRAYER: Dear God, I pray I may continue to grow in understanding and effectiveness; to take daily spot check inventories of myself; to correct mistakes when I make them; to take responsibility for my actions; to be ever aware of my negative and self-defeating attitudes and behaviors; to keep my willfulness in check; to always remember I need Your help; to keep love and tolerance of others as my code; and to continue in daily prayer, how I can best serve you.
ELEVENTH STEP PRAYER: God, as I understand You, I pray to keep my connection with You. Open and clear from me the confusion of daily life. Through my prayers and meditations I ask especially for freedom from self-will, rationalization, and wishful thinking. I pray for the guidance of correct thought and positive action. Your will not mine be done.
TWELFTH STEP PRAYER: Dear God, My spiritual awakening continues to unfold. The help I have received I shall pass on and give to others, both in and out of the fellowship. For this opportunity I am grateful. I pray must humbly to continue walking day by day on the road of spiritual progress. I pray for inner strength and wisdom to practice the principles of this way of life in all I do and say. I need You, my friends, and the Program every hour of every day. This is a better way to live.
"How Important Is It" God Bless .

Good morning to All.
What a great day to be sober.I don't know if anyone else can relate to this but I sure do most days.LOL
Prayer for the Day
Dear Lord,
So far today, God, I've done all right. I haven't gossiped, haven't lost my temper, haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, over-indulgent, or told anyone to mind their own business and to stay out of mine. I'm really glad about that!
But in a few minutes, God, I'm going to get out of bed, and from then on I'm probably going to need a lot more help.
Thank you
Amem

Good morning to All .
A little prayer i like to say some mornings hope you like it.To A God of Your understanding
"Good morning Lord, it's great to be with You again today.
I'm glad You are going to be with me today. Help me in all I do and say today, bring a smile to my lips for all I meet today, place on my tongue kind and gentle words for all I speak with today. And when the day's over bring me home safely."
Thought I would add and extra one that helps me..
"I am Too blessed to be stressed!" The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything. Love and peace be with you forever, Amen
Have a sober 24 God bless LionelC
