Prayers Please

My husband is having minor surgery in a couple of hours. I'm just getting ready to take him in. Please keep him in your prayers today. He's in excellent hands, but surgery always makes me nervous and he's going to have some pain. I appreciate any positive thoughts and prayers. Thank you, and have a great day to everyone.

Hey Atlas, it doesn't matter if it's major or minor, surgery is just plain scary. None of us likes losing that control and handing it over to others.

You're both in my thoughts kiddo. Hang in there, it'll be over before you know it. Let us know how he does, ok? How are you going to handle the pain meds? Will he be able to keep them with him?

Hugs

Atlas,
I said a prayer for you and your husband and asked that he take the worry, fear and unpleasantness from this experience....I understand watching a love one have surgery and the anxiety that comes with even simple procedures....

Take care,
Stacey

Atlas-

Keeping your husband in my thoughts...........He will be just fine......

Please keep us informed when you can.

Hugs.
I said a prayer for you and your husband. I hope everything went ok.
Thanks so much everyone. Everything went just fine, just took a lot longer than expected. He's sore and in pain, as expected, but keeping his meds with him, along with a bottle of water. Standing, sitting and walking are painful, so he either had to keep the meds on him or near him, or get a little bell for me to bring them...he he he....there are SO many reasons why that won't work. I appreciate all the prayers and positive thoughts.
atlas, i'm new here but have quickly learned what a loving group this is. i read your post to steve, the new guy and i was glad to see you talk about physical dependance verses addiction. i am not an addict, but i was afraid the people who could help me most (ADDICTS) would not if i said i was only physically dependant. i think addicts/alcoholics in recovery are the most generous, kind, caring individuals i have ever met. i am glad to be part of this group. withdrawl is the same regardless. i just do not have the mental desire. i hope i can continue to help anyone regardless of their situation. i have experienced a few addicts who weren't particularly happy with me, because i will not say i'm an addict. they just do not understand the difference. we all have commonalities. thanks again
Sky,

I've been busy for a few days and haven't read any of your other posts. Yes, there is a difference, and yes, withdrawal sucks either way.

Having said that, there are addicts in denial who think they are only physically dependant. That''s why I suggested someone post the unique qualities/behaviors of an addict. I don't know what they all are. Please don't think that statement is directed at you, it's not. I haven't read your story.

Thanks for your kind posts. It's very nice to meet you and welcome.
Hey sweety I will continue to say a prayer for him but I must ask.....How ARE YOU dear friend???Are you doing ok?I realize hes the one that had surgeryt but it can also be hard on those who love the ones who are ill?
Talk with me sweety.....
love molly
