i have a serious problem with relapsing i've gone on and off for over 2 years letting go of alcohol only to return to it. I'm getting re via to help with the craving. Are there any professionals here who can tell me whether it's safe to take Re Via with alcohol in the system? And any support would be nice. As you'd guess, I hate myself for my drinking. It's caused many problems. I don't want to lose a job over this stuff again. Thank you.
I found some information on at least 3 websites about Revia, all stating that taking Revia while drinking may reduce the feeling of intoxication and the desire to drink more, but it will not cause a severe physical response to drinking.
However, it seems that it should be used with caution if you have any sort of liver impairment, which I don't know if you have had blood tests before for liver enzymes, which could be elevated if you have been drinking excessively, and could be a sign of liver damage. Hope this helps. Kim

thanks so much for replying. i didn't realize it would reduce intoxication.. i also got a response from an md. apparently taking it while alcohol is in the system could increase side effects. but i'm having trouble quitting the drinking i might take the chance alcoholism is hell. you have no idea how much i appreciate your response.
