Does anyone have any idea if it is better to take suboxone in the morning, afternoon, evening, or bedtime? My son is having trouble sleeping, and our regular doctor, knowing he is on suboxone, prescribed a sedative different than the medication the suboxone doctor prescribed. But now I read that you shouldn't take sedatives while on suboxone. Maybe he wouldn't even need the sedative if he knew what time of day is best for taking the suboxone.
Thanks!
Love,
Susan
My boyfriend was on the Suboxone and his doctor said that it didn't matter what time of day he took it. However, if he is having trouble sleeping, I would think common sense would say he should maybe just take it in the morning and early afternoon.
I guess you found your son - I saw that he was missing in another post. Are you going to an Alanon meeting tonight? I don't have any around me. They are all over an hour away.

Dear Mickey,
We were giving it to him in the early afternoon, but read that it causes drowsiness so thought maybe we should have been giving it late in the evening. I'm going to call the doctor tomorrow. Thanks for the response.
I was planning to go to a meeting tonight, but my younger daughter was asked to go out by some friends and she very rarely does that, so I volunteered to babysit. She needs some time out with people her age.
Have a good night!
