Quit Drinking 4 Days Ago

After a brief hospitalization from dehydration, Jan. 1, I dug deep and stopped. Started on campral today. My withdrawl is not as bad as I thought it would be, considering I have drank 3 years day in and out. Also have on and off for the past 5 years b4 I started every day. I sleep on and off through the night. So much to say, any advice, or a simple hello.
Hi
Congrats on 4 days. What are you planning on doing to stay sober? Are you going to AA? Are you in therapy? Getting sober is just the beginning. Staying sober is where the work starts.

Kat
Good going, sounds like you got seriously sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Stick in there and it gets easier as time passes.

Remember just to take it one day at a time.

If you feel really good one day but then not so good the next day don't let that through you. It is just a bad day, that is all. On those bad days especially just concentrate on staying sober that one day.

What are your drinking habits? How much did you drink to become hospitalized?
You will fail
I recently read the little big book that I was given at a New Comers meeting at AA.

Bill and Bob were Alcoholics with a Capital A.

If they can recover then I would say that no one has gone so far down that they can not recover completely.

Rob, I suggest you read it if you think anyone, including yourself, is hopeless.

I have been sober 30 days as of today, but prior to that I thought that the only way out was to kill myself. But that was just the Booze talking, cause now that the fog has lifted I don't have any suicidal thoughts anymore.

Praise God!!!

It is not hopeless, hang in there.

Cailyn!!
Congrats on 30 days!! That's so awesome.

Thanks Kat.

I am so happy!

This first month has had its ups and downs, but I feel like I am over the hardest part.

I was able to see rock bottom ahead of time and quit before I hit rock bottom.

Not everyone has to hit rock bottom before they quit, in fact, they can save themselves a lot of problems if they don't wait that long.

Congrats on 30 days Cailyn,
Hang in there!
Thanks, Ginge.

You are almost up to a year by now huh?

What day?
