MANY THANKS TO U ALL FOR YOUR KIND MESSAGES OF SUPPORT IN WHAT has been an unbelievabley tough last few weeks.We managed at last to bury my brother on saturday past.He got a send off which i found overwhelming and i know he would have been so proud of.There were between 700-1000people there,i myself have not seen anything quite like it and it went like clockwork.We had a bit of a personal touch that probably Davey and maybe Kev would understand which also went spot on.Gonna try and pick myself up now and get my own life in order this year.Dont want to look to far ahead but enough,s enough.Going to fly down to Southampton on the 20th with my son to a hospital down there for some test,s to do with his illness,if they are successful it will be a huge step forwad for C.F sufferers all over,so here,s praying.Once again,my heartfelt thank,s to all my friends on the board,old and new....ECK...XXX
Good on ya Eck......giving yer Bro Jock a proper send off...it means alot to you and his enduring spirit.I think i know what the special thing you also did for yer Bro.Our one for my Bro was to get the Celtic motif carved in his headstone.Mate am thinking of ya coz i know how easy it is to block out the pain with gear....so as i said bucko one day at a time,slowley.As ya said bout you and the boy going to get some proper care,hes depending on his Dad ,i really hope it works out down South,its gotta be over 500miles from North of Hadrians wall to the Sunny South,so fair play to ya pal yer doing good a proper job by yer lad.Eck take care MUCKER from across the Irish sea all the very best................Davey
Oh, Eckie...what a lovely tribute to your brother that he inspired such a turnout...no doubt he was very special to a lot of folks, just as you are to us here on the board. It is my sincerest hope that you have the stamina to see to your own recovery as you deal with your son's heartbreaking illness. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to watch your child struggle for his very breath - something we take for granted.
