I watched part of this documentary about alcoholics last night and it was the most harrowing thing I have ever seen... I had to keep switching over and back again because I couldn't watch it all the way through...
There was this guy who woke up in his bed and leant over and was sick right on the floor by the bed... then he started shivering and couldn't speak... later on he was sitting downing pints of wine and throwing it all back up again... it was awful and reminded me of how bad I was at one point which made it all the more distressing...
It really gave me a reality check of how I don't want to be... jaundiced and dying just because of alcohol...

Izzy,
Thanks for that reminder...my last drunk I couldn't get off the futon and actually peed in a cup, and my gall bladder, liver and pancreas were so jacked up I couldn't put the bottle down even though I was in deep, desperate mental and physical pain, I just couldn't get up to get the bathroom....within 24 hours of that episode I had that moment of clarity...thanks to my Higher Power, God. Hope you are doing well.

Damned, I missed it again. I am guessing it is the same documentary that was broadcast a good few months ago. My sister watched it and found it very depressing, more so because she knew that I could of ended up like that. I really wanted to see that - just as a reality check, but missed it. Well, it is hardly surprising considering I don't have a TV isn't it!!
Hi Lacey and Geri
The documentary was on very early in the morning or very late at night whatever way you want to look at it.
It just reminded me how easy it is to get to that state... It was very scary to watch...
I shall definately think twice before I pick up a drink.

Good for you, you are worth so much more than that darkness and suffering.
Let us all embrace the light and the love of change - for the better.
We so deserve it.
