Has anyone heard of ibogaine treatment for addictions to Heroin, other opiates, methadone, etc?
Apparently, it's derived from some African root. Its psychoactive (gives you halucinations) for about 36 hours. When you come down, you are symptom free and don't want to use heroin.
Somehow it "cures" the physical addiction part of the disease of addiction WITHOUT WITHDRAWALS. Also, patients report that the day or so of tripping was like ten years in psychotherapy as well.
Search ibogaine in You Tube and there are lots of testimonials on there as well as explanations of how it works. Apparently it's not like LSD or any other psychoacitve drug.
There are heroin and methadone addicts that have been using for twenty five years and they got clean in a day or two without withdrawals. Plus, they report that they have no desire to use again.
Incredible??? I'd say so.... If true.

It's currently under investigation for treatment of addiction by the National Institute of Drug Abuse - NIDA, here in the USA.
