Hi I'm just about hitting the two month mark of abstinence and I'm wondering is one time really a relapse? Thanks for the help.
one time is a slip, not a relapse. As long as you have learned from it - move on and keep up the program
I'm in an outpatient rehab program and they consider everything a relapse. I havent really "relapsed" yet, but theres a special event coming up soon and i wonder can i plan on getting drunk if i know that it will only be one time?

You know the answer to this question. Planning to get drunk is no way to live, addiction or not. If you are planning to breach your program rules then I think you need to take a seriously long look at where you are headed.

I don't know about you but for me if I pick up one drink whether its a special occasion or not it won't be just one. For me to go get drunk will wake up the demon again. I don't know if it would be just "one" time..I have no guarantee and I do not want to test the waters. Been there done that. I tested the waters twice since I got sober the first time. And I was only gonna do it "one " time. But it is up to you.

thank all of you for your knowledgeable answers and support. I guess I will just make the smart decision that I knew all along. I was just curious to others opinion on the matter at hand. This time of the year, with all the parties, will be incredibly hard to handle.

Holidays are a hard time of year. For me I stay out of arms reach of a drink or drug. I attend AA, and this time of year things get crazy for me. Family and all so I bump up my meeting attendance. If I don't I'm in serious trouble. Good luck to you.
