Relapse

I recently relapsed. I went through treatment 8 months ago. I didn't have any craving tell 2 weeks ago. I have suffered with depression for 15 years and was diagnosed Bipolar 3 years ago. Every fall I seemed to fall into a funk. I live in the midwest and when those leaves turn and fall I go down. Does anyone go through this??
You could be suffering from SAD seasonal affective disorder.
Are you on medication for the bi polar?
If not you need to get something to help with that.
Lots of addicts are self medicating without even realising it.
Take care.

Hi there
Yes I can relate to you, I live in Canada (British Columbia) and believe me our winters here are horrible, all it does is rain rain and rain, by the time summer comes I'm surprised I haven't developed webbed feet!!! but I suffer big time from this as well. I was diagnosed as bi polar as well, and I choose not to go on meds, so my moods can be really really high and then low, when I'm really high that's when the party starts and I drink like there is no tomorrow, then when I'm just kinda "normal" I don't drink, and I feel really good, like now, I haven't touched a drink in 4 days!!! it was tough today, I was pretty stressed but I choose to order a pizza and be productive gotta keep busy!!! I also started suntanning and I'm hoping that will help with the depression, so far so good.
don't be hard on yourself about your relapse hun, we've all been there, be kind to yourself, do something really nice for YOU, put the money you would spend on booze buy something or do something that would really make you feel good
get out and socialize with people, talk on the phone, come here, whatever it takes. I'll be checking in regularly, so if you need to chat, I'll reply
