What do ya'll think about we send shout outs to get a lil reunion on here?
Just a pushy Brynn idea to have some old friends just say hello and let the still suffering addict see that yes you can get clean and yes you can be phenomenal. It's a wonderful sign that we move on and are clean and are probably what we all wanted to be. Normal, functioning, everyday people living the life. Often extra phenomenal are some of us grabbing at life. Full of vitality and humbled we were given the chance to have such a gift.
Also we can send up prayers, good vibes, and love and light for those of us who didn't make it, but deserved it just as much.
If anyone is in touch with any of our old gang perhaps they could pop in and share and say a hello. If not we understand and always care for them and want the very best for them.
~Brynn/Brynda whatever the heck my name is.

Well, since Facebook has achieved world domination most of our oldtimers are there...Davey, Diff, SashaB, Robbie, GYAC, heartache, Dee4Life, and our own Tres...they're all there posting all their personal bidness ;-)
So get busy and get yourself a page and you can get this party started...send out the invites...we'll just call you "Julie" like the cruise director on the "Love Boat"..........

i've not been here that long but a party's a party i'm in Bryn love Kitty xx
No offense to our brethren who have left (for the most part) to put thier thoughts,, feelings, and hopes and dreams on another site- - which I like to call > Face book >"The Evil Empire' * *
Facebook has become the restroom wall of the 21st century. Unpopular kids' lives are made even more miserable by postings on Facebook. As a parent, I've already been in the middle of countless disputes, not so much anymore as my own son is starting to "get it" although I think his reasons >> " to keep in touch with old friends" - to keep up to date on the happenings of today"- - -jeeezuz, nothing that couldn't be handled with a cell-phone and a little CNN- - -
I thought at my age it was a silly and ridiculous thing to even think of- - but my son tells me - No PapaDukes- old timers are signing up just to meet people thier own age- (I think guys lie a lot- but I'm a cynical bastar*)
I may be >
but recently ,more and more of the below goes on everyday* * *
People dont think about employers reading their Facbook pages and kids dont think about their parents going online to check up on them. But an increasing number do. - I cant bother ,anyway my son is not a kid anymore- -
Employers dont want to take risks with employees. This is one legal way they can find out who they,re hiring> by checking their Facebook page. Many jobs interviews Ive been on ,have a little box asking if you have a facebook account??- can you imagine ??? employers review candidates profiles on social networking sites.
It surprised me how many were using sites like Facebook to screen applicants.
Workers can now ask to see traditional job references under the Data Protection Act, so people might be reluctant to write the things they would have done years ago. ----------->>>
So employers go to the next best source Facebook to find out more.
There have also been a number of cases of people being fired for criticising their employer on Facebook. -
The stories go on and on- I'm sure thier are many who will defend thier Facebook rights- which is fine, my advise is to be very careful. We really don't know enough about these social networking sites to make a well thought out decision whether they are good or bad- and if your HR department can move into your secret life that you chose to put on that site- don't you think there are much more important groups who could do the same?? Never mind the information that you might put out there, - you can get a little too comfortable and all of a sudden - you have put out private stuff that anyone with access to a PC can see- -
I don't know how I got on this rant, probably because many of the posters on this site slipped away to a more powerful and engaging site than one just focused on drugs ans recovery- -
If any of you confederates see this and got the time to read all my nonsense- -stop by, just to say hello- -no judgements- besides you guys should know by now , that when I get on a rant -it just about takes a natural disaster to get me to stop- lol
withmucho respect

Don't use it. As you say handy for finding old pals but so is friends reunited. If i want someone to know something i'll tell them , not the world. it reeks of LOVE ME syndrome Love kitty xxxx
Just like anything else, when misused or overused FB is addictive and absurd. But it's an easy way to stay in touch and there are many options to keep your profile private. As a teacher I am very circumpect about what I say there.
I hope the wonderful people on the board stay right here. I know facebook is great, but since this is such an open forum, I am sure it has helped so many people, like me, who needed advice and a place to come to for answers when my world was coming apart. It is so wonderful to come on here, and to read all the stories that are so similar to our own story, and to feel the warmth and love that is given so freely by people we may never get to meet other than on this site.
My life has settled down, for the most part, but I still need to come here and keep in touch with all my friends and gain strength and encouragement, and hopefully to extend good wishes to others. This site is a blessing, so please everyone, don't abandon us for facebook, keep coming here, too

AMEN!
I not only wish they'd stay, I wish the oldtimers would come back...their experience is so valuable to those still in the struggle.
Rita, so nice to see you =)

I second that MnM,
I miss many although some have moved on to better things who can forget Diff or Cynical without whom I wouldn't be where I am.
Facebook my biggest gripe with it, is it is so boring. Who cares what you think, do or eat every two minutes? And why do you think that I have to love your music stop posting You Tube videos and your holiday pictures.
It's scary really that people have nothing better to do.

I agree! I joined facebook last month to keep up with family out of town, but after seeing their pictures and updates once or twice, I had all I could stand of it!!! Just don't quite get it!
Facebook is just another addiction.
I agree that most people just aren't so interesting that I simply must know every detail. I do enjoy the occasional surprise visitor, and I have also enjoyed a peek in to the lives of some of the folks here on the boards, but I know I at least am deffo not that fascinating to be posting every day. I know at least two people who keep it open on their computer 24/7, always running in the background while they do other things.

Thanks M&M I'm still around, mostly reading but occasionally posting.

Alright Kitty. I'm sound as! It'snot easy though but still early days! When does the sleep come back, aggggghhhhhhhhhh! I can sleep through the day, just not at night! And I'm always freezing! One day at a time n all that though eh? I saw yer post asking if I'm a blue nose. Sorry but naw!I'm from the east so I'm loyal to one of our teams over here! To be honest, I've not had much time to bother with football these past few years as I've just spent the last 7 years, 24/7 running around like a lunatic trying to get money etc......
Not anymore though! Still craving like hell but I know it'll get easier (please tell me it will lol)! Going for a wee afternoon nap, speak soon.
