Claire, is it normal to use over the methadone? I get that impression from your post. Maybe my son was doing that last week. He was seriously wigged out the third day he went to the clinic. I thought that was the whole purpose. Shows what I know. Well, he is better this week. A little sluggish acting, but not where I'm ready to call the ambulance. Of course, I'd rather he not use anything, but this is better than heroin. He is starting to read books again! It's been a while since I noticed that. He is an avid reader. It's good to see some of the "old" son that I know and love. I hope that you don't give up on yourself either. Just take it one day at a time and love the moment you have, totally free from bondage!
Hi clueless, I am really sorry if I worried you about using with methadone, it is not normal, and stupid, not to mention dangerous. I am glad to hear that your son has been doing better, but it did sound to me that maybe he was being over prescribed, or doing a bit more than just his methadone.
Good luck , it is not easy but yuor son will certainly appreciate you being there for him , even if it doesn't always feel like that
