In years past the "relapser" was talked down to and shamed. you must have the desire, and only the desire, to belong to this fellowship. I have been in and out of the program for years. Every time I would slip I found it impossible to return to AA. The shame and guilt were too big. But now I understand that the faster I get back, the more I recover. You need to communicate the issues that are causing you to keep yourself in HELL!!!!! Believe me, it is easier to stay clean than its is to stay in the prison of your own mind. feel free to respond
This disease is CUNNING BAFFERLING and POWERFULL, also very PATIENT.
And no matter what the little alcoholic monkey on your shoulder is whispering into your ear and telling you. Dont listen. It is normal for someone who may have this disease, Alcoholism, to want to drink, but you dont need to.
And I for one believe your strong and have hope because your still here posting on the site. You cant bring anyone else down unless they let you.
So please keep posting on this site.
Have you sort out help. Like Alcoholics Anonymous. There would be a number in your phonebook. I dont know about your area, but where I am at we have .Community Health Centres .who have counsellors you can also talk to.

I saw you posted to my message. Thank you. I am new to this website and I have found it encouraging. Keep it up. Re-read some messages, they are helpful. Hope to hear from you again, till then always get back on that horse and dont drink that first drink. If you dont drink the first drink there wont be a second drink.

Alls good with me I havent needed to have a drink or drug today. I probably could have just said I didnt need to take a drug today because alcohol is a sedative drug. I heard someone say once.
If youve had a great day where everything has gone right and you havent needed to take a drink or drug. Then youve had a good day.
But if youve had a day were everything has gone wrong and it feels like its been the worse day of your like. And you havent needed to take a drink or drug then youve had a great day.

If you have tried doing the steps, and AA, you might also look into reading, "Rational Recovery, The New Cure for Substance Abuse." That book totally cured me of a long-standing addiction to alcohol.
