howdy partners, well erveything worked out perfectly.i love it when i go to a doctor that's actually a competent being, and actually looks you in the eye and listens to what you have to say.
she perscribed me clonidine (which i have never heard of in my life, she said it was for hypertension...) and told me that it would help with the withdrawal. then she also wrote me a script of subutex which doesn't have the opioid antagonist in it like suboxone so it won't send me into withdrawal if i still have some methadone for me. i still have to wait a couple days without taking methadone before i can take the subutex though.
i guess i shouldn't have gotten myself all stressed out over everything and just waited to see what the doctor had to say and i would have had a happier past few days. but that's in the past and i'm happy now.
i just can't wait till the day when i can take vitamins, anti depressants, maybe smoke a little pot and be happy with life!!
i have never been on either of these drugs (subutex & clonodine) so if anyone has had any experience with either of these please hit me up!!!!!!

Actually it is the bup, not that naxolone, in suboxone, but subutex is recommended with a switch from meth.
How it works is this, you take the sub to soon, there is still meth on the receptors and the bup fights for them receptors, and it wins but then there isn't enough of the bup left about to satisfy them receptors.....precipitated wd. You ever see that personally. I have, ugly, ugly. And taking more right away will not fix the problem at hand.
I know that you are happy with this but the doctor who scripted you like this is an idiot. You should dose in the office. Sadly that isn't always the case....
This is one drug that no one should under estimate....

Oh be careful with that clonodine too dude. Take as prescribed because personally I bottomed out with it, and my friend the great Ms. Tres really went DOWN on it big time. That BP medicine alrightie, and it will drop your pressure like well like bad if ya don't follow the script.
Pay mind to Tina. She knows her stuff 100% and like she said she has seen it. I never want to see that. Heard it's awful. The likes of something we never seen before.

i am taking it in the office she just gave me the script before i was suppose to go in on monday. she said that if i wasn't feeling bad enough to come in on tuesday. i guess i'll just go ahead and contact her and tell her to wait till tuesday because i need to let my work know when i'll be absent. (it was kind of weird for her to go ahead and give me the scripts before she wanted me taking them. being an addict my first thought was ' screw this i got the script which is what i wanted why should i ever come back." this time i'm trying to do it for real so i'll wait patiently and find a good book till tuesday and get started. it'll give me something to look forward to.)
i have a 5 mg vikodin to get me through work on monday and .5mg xanax to sleep. i would take benadryll to sleep but i was told not to mix anthistamines with clonidine.

hey there.tres here.....yup they had me on clonidine a lot during my detox.and like my dearest bryn, brindel.whoever she is today.satated ya have to watch that your bp doesnt go too low.......watch for lightheadedness and drink loadsof fluids.........It did help me alot though especially with my anxiety......one time though there was this doc, gooberman i think his name was.....could pay him boco bucks and he would give ya s*** to detox at home, bupen..whatever that word i, clonidine and some other s***.well of course paid him, once, think twice....used the bup s*** up,.....and nver stayed clean <liked that he gave ya needles of that to take i remember,,,,,>..........but one time when I tried to detox I hahd had a lot of the clonidine left and tok it and took it...then tried to go to rehab/detox.they were freaking, said my bp was so low i shoulda been dead......told me to go to hospital then come back next day...went home, drank loads of fluids , took no more meds and got in the next day..........just my expereince wiht the clonidine
i haven't taken any of the clonidine yet. she said to wait till the withdrawal started really kicking in before i should take it. she warned me of the blood pressure situation and told me that it was actually for high blood presure patients but that it has been noted to help with withdrawal. and when i went to the pharmacy the pharmacist gave me the same warning. she gave me a low dose of 0.1 mgs every 6 hours to take.

hard to tell how much the clonidine really helped......first time they gave it to me was in a detox yrs ago........<that is besides the time i was self medicating wiht it>......the time in the detox we also got the bupenorphine shot <think thats how you spell it. they wuold give that to you for three days a few times a day......<those days r a bit foggy in memory> and supplented the shots wiht vitamins and the clonidine........the last time, i detoxed wiht meth for 3 days.....felt better, but weak, then used the first day out and had a herin induced heart attack........spent next ten day in cardio unit of hospital......where they gave it to me along wiht some relaxant, not a benzo though.......after that went to pysch unit where they gave it to me along wiht ativan......which i'm pretty sure is a benzo.by the time I got to rehab after 7 days in pysch unit.i was just on antidepressants, vitamins and the clonidine.they were weaning me off it there......and then by the end of my 28days wasnt realltaking it, i did tend ot have great anxiety though and due to my previous heart attack, everytime i would get the racing heart, they would give me the clonidine......as you noted, it is maily used as a drug to lower high blood pressure......i dont really think it is of much help when you r in full detox, but helps for the after effects........because as you may know, after the main sickness and hell leaves and you start to feel physically better.there is still much to deal with, racing thoughts, anxiety, sleeplessness...........I will tell you this, when i left rehab it was only on effexor for depression and risperdal for my anxiety and sleep......and then after seeing a pyschin after care i also got prescribed lamictal for bipolar........today at 2 yrs and like 8 months clean.i only take y bipolar medicine and think this is just mainly cos I'm not up to weaning myself off of it and feel great most days..........i have the risperdal to use but rarely take it unless i start to get anxiety and this has gotten better itslef over time, so rarely need it..........stil have some sleep problems......up off and on all night, but not quite sure if that is my hep c, menopause or due to my previous drug history.either way its not a big deal, i can usually get right back to sleep.....I hope this helped a little bit and i wish you luck in your journey to return to some sanity.........
Also for me.but not everyone for sure.........pot is the one thing i have missed most.....oh how ilove my pot, although not so much when on heroin, as that drug seems to overcompensate for everything else........but still I dont even indulge in that anymore......still get the urge off and on, many of my freinds r potheads, and that is hard at times...........but in the past 2 1/2 yrs i have abstained from everything............well not cigarettes, caffienne and food.......lol.......but everything else.......
