Soccer Mom

Hugs,

I hear clucking from nicotine is hell.

JD
Again with the clucking..what is that????
I think its Pam's new word for "withdrawal".

That's the second thing I've learned today.

DeNae
I thought it was a typo. She meant quitting and said clucking instead. Of course I've been known to be wrong.
lol,Kat
DeNae

I'm curious, whats the first thing you learned..LOL

LOL
Actually, it was your very informative lesson on the koi, yesterday morning.
Yeppers, it was. Thanks for helping me on that one.

DeNae
I'd say she got it off the heroin board. The Brits call it that. (cluck or rattle) I'm partial to rattle. Beck
Ali,

I got lucky with the quitting. Five months ago we were moving back from overseas. For 15 hours after my last cigarette, I was on a plane and unable to smoke. For three days after that I was with my newborn nephew (again, no smoking allowed). Day 5 was spent largely on planes or in airports. I only have one smoking friend here at home. I stayed away from her and from other activities that trigger smoking (no chatting on the telephone, stayed off IM with my online buddies). Im able to IM now without being triggered, but I still limit my phone conversations. My long distance bills have plummeted, lol. I reward myself I spend all that cigarette money (they were really expensive in NZ I was spending $100/week) on anything I like, except for drugs and cigarettes, lol. I highly recommend the 90 minute massage, or the 60 minute massage and a spa pedicure.

Its just like quitting drugs, really. People, places, things. Don't pick up.

I did use the patch. Ive used the inhaler and gum before, too, but the patch works the best for me. I tapered off that a while ago, but I keep some around in case I have a nic fit.

Yes, JD, they are cluckin' 'ell to quit (LOL, is this our latest Pam-ism?) -- harder in their way than the drugs were. I dont often have drug cravings, but I think I will always want a cigarette.

Upside is, I used to wake myself up two or three times a night coughing. That hasnt happened in a while.

Good luck,
Gina

P.S. You might ask Beck (intoodeep) what she's done -- she's just gone two weeks without a cigarette.
Ok, now I get it. Never heard that term before...it must be a herion thing. No, won't be mine.

Michelle...are you feeling better this morning?
