Do any of you Sponsor others on the Program? If so, can you share a little on what works for you? A young Gal that I sponsored before just got out of detox for the second time not too long ago, wants to get sober again, and the first time didn't work out too well...I know I can only carry the message and not the alcoholic, but still interested in what others do...thank you.
You must be looking for that "Sponsor school" LOL. Sorry, VW, your question just reminded me of Wayne B when he talks about his sponsor, and that "sponsor school". I know, this didn't contribute a darn thing to your topic, but I was hoping someone could get a smile this morning.

Hi VW
If one of my girls goes back out and makes it back alive and still wants me to sponsor her I ask what she plans on doing different. After wading thru the bs to find out what she's REALLY willing to change, I decide whether I'm willing to give it a second chance. If I see the same behavior as before the relapse and no change, I tell her she needs to find someone else to sponsor her. I can't do anything if someone is not open to change. I hate seeing my girls relapse. It breaks my heart to see what addicts and alkies put themselves thru. It's such a simple program. I wish we didn't complicate it so much.
And that's what I learned in sponsor school <BEG>

Too funny WW...12 Stepper thanks for the post. I talked to this young lady today..she doesn't really seem willing to go to length to acheive sobriety, however I didn't actually ask that specific question. I did not too long ago and she "No, I am not willing to go to any length to stay sober..." so I said call me when you are ready. So, tomorrow I will pose the question and see if she is really being honest about it or not. Willingness is the key.
