Hi. I haven't posted in awhile. My husband has been going to AA meetings and outpatient clinic since he got home from 28 day stay in rehab in Dec. He relapsed several times since his return. Finally, he seemed on track with his program - I planned a trip away with our baby, he was going to stay in the program. I came home to leave for the airport and there he was - drunk, stoned, whatever. I was horrified and the scene seemed to play in slow motion. I called his doctor and left anyway. What followed was the usual pattern of calls - 1. You were mistaken 2. You misunderstood 3. I didn't drink...etc. After the sixth day, the truth. Mixing alcohol with pain pills. He is getting admitted into rehab in patient again this week for 28 days. I am glad he is getting help, on his own and that he made his own arrangements. I can't put my family through this any longer until he is on a better track. I'd like him to go to a transitional living place after he leaves rehab. Has anyone heard of any facilities and how they work? I'd like him to show several months of sobriety and really working the program before he rejoins our family. I have felt like he is working me instead of working the steps.
Imagine........that sounds really tough! sorry you are having to through this. I have heard of half-way houses for those coming out of rehab. What area are you in? I am not famaliar with any, even in my area, but hopefully, someone here will help.

I have two friends who have gone on to live in Sober Living houses and since I go to AA, there are always people who are there from Recovery Homes. I am in Los Angeles and we have a lot of them. In fact, it is quite common for people to go this route. I have not done this but the two friends I spoke of, my best friend, lived in one for a year and my male friend stayed for six months. They both needed this type of foundation. Albeit, he is in construction and she is a hairdresser so they were able to arrange their schedules accordingly. Both had lost everything in there lives and needed to start over and are doing very well today. In fact, he is the one who took me to NA to start with. Good luck...

Rachel........sorry about the rainy Saturday.....I hope you don't live on a hillside.
OMG....the last time I decided to clean out drawers, i found a stash of 8 Norcos. Don't know if you were on to hide the pills, but be careful!! LOL
YES! Thank God! We got a car.Nissan Pathfinder. I feel kind of silly. I wouldn't finalize the deal without first consulting my husband, and I couldn;t reach him, so we will have to go back Monday to pick it up. I have never bought a car without him there, he thought it was funny that I wouldn't go ahead and finish the deal. So anyway........at least it's behind us now. What an ordeal!
don't let the rain get you down! :) I should be around for awhile.

Every pill was accounted for. There is no chance of a lingering pill in this house. Just a lot of clutter and I have a housekeeper for God's sakes, lol...
