If you stop now and flush the remainder (or close off your source), you'll probably have some light withdrawal symptoms but nothing major. As atoz said, though, the longer you stay on them, the worse it wil get. Tomorrow can be a brand new day -- everyone suffers setbacks, and every one of those setbacks can be a lesson to build from. Thanks for reminding us that it doesn't get better. Don't stop trying lonely1, we're here for you. God Bless, M.
Dear Lonely1,
None has given you some great advice. Take those pills and flush them. You've been on using hydrocodone for 9 days, so stop now, and don't let it get to 10 days. As None pointed out, you may have some minor withdrawal symptoms; however, I can't imagine that they will be anything like you may have experienced before.
You do not have to be ashamed because you have relapsed. This is a difficult part of recovery, no matter how long one has been clean. Start again, today, and know that you've done this before, and you can and will be able to do this again.
Keep posting and let us know how you are doing. We are all here to help you, Lonely1. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

You don't have to do it on your own. By hb do you mean oc? there is a very strong network of pills anonymous meetings and they're great. One at hoag hospital let me know if you want more info.

HB, meaning Huntington Beach, CA? I live near there. I feel for you, I've done the same thing many times before. Maybe see a Dr. who specializes in addiction. I say this because I know how scary it is.
Peace,
Rach

Tracy-
You have been given some great advice. I admire your honesty. No one here will ever judge you. I, too, have relapsed on my percocet addiction (well actually any opiate addiction) and just got clean again. I was so ashamed, dissapointed in myself, felt like I let people down - but when I came clean to my drs. and to this Board, they were so kind and understanding.
Please take the advice you have been given. You can do this.
Love,
Marie

Hi. I go to AA but I want to go to PA, I just don't know of anyone who goes or where there are any meetings. I guess I could look it up on the internet. I had gone to AA before so I had a group of friends already there. I would get a lot out of PA as I never was a drinker. Are you in CA also?

Yep. OC. There are some really good PA meetings in OC, dr. paul kind of started it in laguna I've heard. Hoag hospital has one on Wed nights. P.A. is nice b/c you don't have to worry about offending anyone (i don't really understand that mentality to begin with) but you can talk very openly about this stuff. Lots of professionals, drs., nurses and pharmacists are at the meetings
I relapsed as well. I echo bender...don't take it to 10. Your withdrawl symptoms will be minor..but just make it. One thing that I did learn from my relapse was that you go right back to the bottom, and quick. It just doesn't work.
Please don't beat yourself up. Relapse can be part of the process...
This is a hard disease.

Hey Sara:
I'm in the South Bay! Funny, tonight at my meeting this woman shared that she just relapsed on pills and I welcomed her and went on about my relapse after years of being clean on pills. Anyway, two great women came up to me and said that we should start a PA meeting. It's weird, huh? Maybe I'll go down to OC and go to one of your meetings-I'm in the medical field! Thanks for sharing that with me. You are so close to me!
Peace,
Rach
