My boyfriend was addicted to pain pills and went to detox last year during Thanksgiving weekend and stayed for 10 days. He came home on suboxone and was doing great. I've been hearing that he's doing pills again and I found some in his truck. He said they were a friends. I don't believe him. How can I tell if he's quit the suboxone and using pain pills again?

I'm pretty sure that if you've been hearing stuff, you have found pills (what friend leaves pills in your vehicle?) and you're suspicious enough to question him, it's likely that your intuition is right.

I Finally got him to take a drug test I bought(approximately 6days after I found the pills he took and flushed them) he passed but they had time to get out of his system. I've been seeing him taking strips now. Can you go between pills and Sub strips?
Did you SEE him take the urine test? We can so easily alter them. ...
My son was an expert at faking drug tests! He even got jobs after faking them only to quit several days later cause he couldn't work and be on drugs.
Blood tests are the only accurate ones--if he could have figured out a way to alter them he would have.

Why are you playing cop ? We're experts at this...you cant win...prevent...or deter us...pls. get yourself help ...he already knows where and how to get it if he wants it. You need to find your own help...try naranon or alanon ...they will help you find a way to detach...because there is nothing...absolutely nothing that will prevent us from using if we want to....nothing. ...
I'm not playing cop, I'm asking for advice on the subject. I have kids and don't want them to go threw watching him get addicted and have to go to rehab again. Last time he was only gone 10 days and it killed the kids not having him. I know addicts will get it when they want it and will will lie to your face saying they aren't doing anything and as soon as you turn your back they are popping a pill. I just didn't want to over react if he wasn't doing anything so I was wanting signs that I can look for if he's doing pills again. If so I want to get him help but this time he will have to stay longer and go threw it all
Searching for signs of use...is cat and mouse...cops and robber behavior ...do you think he doesn't know your looking ? What would it accomplish even if you had proof ?.. Even if you caught him red handed ?...if he doesn't decide to get clean on his own...there's pretty much nothing you can do. ...you cant cure this...can't control it....cant "help" him get help....and no...not you or the kids will make a difference. ..you must learn to take care of yourself...your living with an addict...it's a life long deal...and he's already done detox and rehabs...longer ones wont help either...he needs to want it...and nothing can make us want it...but ourselves...have you checked out Alanon or Naranon meetings? They can help you understand what I mean...not trying to be cruel...just being honest. ..im sorry...
usually if you think he is using, then he is. unfortunately this does not play out the way YOU want it to.... in a nice neat bow on top. You can not make decisions based on how the kids will react - they are not adults and do not understand the issues. you need to make the decisions that are best for your and your kids, well being.
