Suboxone Vs Methadone

My boyfriend is a heroin,morphine...ect addict and is using methadone to stop but he has been using still because the pressure gets to him but he keeps trying. Have any of you tryed methadone and switched to suboxone or either or? I would like to know the differences. He is buying methadone off the streets and weening himself off. He is down to 10mgs but he is still using I dont know how often. I would like to hear what all of you think. Thankyou

As long as your boyfriend is only on 10 mg of Methadone then he can make an easy switch over to Suboxone...While on Suboxone, if he uses any type of opiate, he will not feel the euphoric effects that he once felt when not taking the Suboxone...Suboxone blocks the opiate receptors, this is why one can't get high on heroin or any other type of opiate while taking Suboxone...Here is a link that will take you to a Suboxone Forum and it should provide you with many answers that you may have concerning Sub...

Lane, I don't know anything about the Subs....I do know, and I think many will tell you here....buying methadone off the street, and trying to detox yourself doesn't usually work.....he's still doing heroin.....it ain't working.

10mg is a really low, low dose.....hopefully other people will relate too.
