I've decided to take a break from writing in this forum, at least until June.
Thank you, all of the wonderful members who have been understanding of my situation. I still take pain medication, for chronic pain, and, until I have a trial of a Dorsal Column Stimulator, I need to stay on my opioids.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, all. For those that have my e-mail, please don't hesitate to write. I'll be thinking of you.

If you're leaving because you're not clean, PLEASE reconsider! Since January 1st I've only had 10 days clean. I haven't given up, and this board keeps it real, especially when I read serious posts about people almost losing their lives. It gives me hope.
If you choose to go, at least drop in and lurk from time to time!

DEAR BENDER.............AS YOU KNOW I AM SO NEW TO THIS AND YOU WERE SUCH A KIND, SWEET, MAN WHO FOR THE FIRST TIME GAVE ME A FEELING OF CONFIDENCE.. IT WAS THE THINGS YOU SAID TO ME AND THE FACT THAT YOU EVEN WROTE.. I WENT TO BED THE VERY NIGHT YOU WROTE AND I WAS PRAYING AND FELL ASLEEP. WHEN I WOKE UP AT 4:20AM TO CHANGE POSITIONS IN BED, I AGAIN THOUGHT OF WHAT YOU SAID FOR A SPLIT SEC. SOMETHING HAPPENED BETWEEN 4:20AM AND WHEN I GOT UP AT 8:AM...............I GOT THE PUSH TO LEAD ANYONE ON EASTER SUNDAY IN A NATIONWIDE EFFORT TO GET OFF PAIN PILLS.. BENDER, IT HAS TO HAVE BEEN FROM GOD. OVER 600 PEOPLE HAVE VISITED MY SITE AND SEVERAL ARE WILLING TO DO THIS. THE TOPIC IS "ANYONE WILLING TO TAKE THE PLUNGE ON EASTER?" PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE US NOW . i think your decision of leaving this message board is going to be your first step of giving up all together, please dont fool yourself that you dont need someone to help you along this journey, in good times and in bad times, sober or not sober, we need you here just as much as you need this us here whether you realize that or not. Do the right thing, when you first joined with us, it was one more step closer to sobriety. But if you do leave, know that we will be here waiting for you when you come back but god will always be with you. God bless you in every second of everyday.
Dear Bender as someone who also needs pain control I can relate to you.I hope you dont feel you have to go because you are ALWAYS WELCOMED with open arms.But if this is what you truley feel you should do please know you will be in our thoughts & prayers.Take care & say hello sometime.You will be missed mj

Ben..did I miss something? Did someone give you a hard time about having to take meds (as prescribed I might add)? You know in your heart where you are in your recovery. You're the only one that does, so to hell with what anyone else thinks. You have always been rock solid on this forum and offered nothing but strength, hope and experience to those in need. Boy, what a shame that this forum has started to turn away it's best and brightest.....

Ben - treat this as a Motion for Reconsideration, your honor. I feel like I missed something too - I'm with cowgirl. I thought there was only one person that gave you a hard time and last I checked when he/she/it started in with the venom the last time the post was locked down because of their messages that added nothing what so ever to the debate.
You -however - as everyone has mentioned since you posted your goodbye add a tremendous amount to this board. I feel a bit selfish in my request because I so enjoy hearing from someone in law school there for someone else but themselves and daddy's big law firm.
Ben if this is a philisophical thing about using vs. clean I have been "clean" for over a year on SUb and my view is if the hardcore don't like it - don' tread my posts - I am lucky - I have a serious pain condition that is so far controlled with surgery,anti-convulsants (they have no idea why) and sub. and f... anyone that doesn't like it. The fact is I do not have the obsession anymore but I still need support as do you. You give SOOOOOOOOO much more than you take from this board that your not posting will be our loss.
If it is the law school pressure - I understand - just stay with us - we need you. I will be out of town for about 10 days and when I return I hope that my motion will be granted.

You've been on the sub for over a year? Is it going to be life long for you? Are they using it for pain control as well as the addiction? Everything I've heard here indicates that most are on and off in 3-6 months. Anyway, just curious and so glad it's working for you.

Thank you, both, for your kind words and understanding. For some reason, I took Kiwirain's post to heart. Perhaps, next time, if Kiwirain would not "skim" a post, and read them in their entirety, he would have a better understanding of member's addictions, or physical dependence - in some cases.
