Hello Fellow Addicts and Addictettes!
It will be a few weeks until I can get in to see a doctor that specializes in addiction, so I saw a counselor ( pretty useless) and then I remembered a parent of my son's friend is a Phd, who deals with addiction all the time.
I told him my whole story, and asked him to research tapering or CT when coming off barbiturates. He DEFINITELY recommended tapering to avoid seizures.
So, I am calling to make my doctor apppointment Monday, gonna hit an NA meeting, and tapering.
DANG, tapering is hard, when you've got a bottle full of the suckers.

Mom,
Do you have someone that can hold them for you that you trust and will give you only what you need when you need it? If your gonna go that way, I would suggest not holding them yourself. It's way to easy to say F-it and take them.
Thats like playing with fire, and we as addicts can easily justify doing just about anything.

I've been trying to come up with a person who can hold the pills. Can't be my husband yet, because although I told him about my "addictive tendencies" he has NO idea the extent of the problem, the amount of pills, or the credit card debt.
I think I'll call a friend of mine to see if she'll dole out the pills while I taper.
