Good morning to All.
On P:83 of the Big Book Alcoholics Anonymous we have the promises they are availabile to all if you want them.
The Twelve Promises
We are going to know a new freedom & a new happiness.
We will not regret the past, nor wish to shut the door on it.
We will comprehend the word Serenity &
We will know peace.
No matter how far down the scale weve gone,
well see how our experiences can benefit others.
That feeling of uselessness & self-pity will disappear.
We will lose interest in selfish things & gain interest in our fellows.
Self-seeking will slip away.
Our whole attitude & outlook on life will change.
Fear of people & economic insecurity will leave us.
We will intuitively know how to handle situations which use to baffle us.
We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not to for ourselves.
Are these extravagant promises? We think not.
Theyre being fulfilled among us - sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly.
Theyll always materialize if we work for them.

Lionel, Love those Promises! Didn't believe it would happen for me when I first got sober though. My Sponsor would tell me just believe that I believe it will happen for you! Well, guess what? I was amazed because just as indicated, before I was half way through (workin' my Steps) ~ the Promises started becoming present in my life and now I am trudging the road to happy destiny. Hope all is well with you...it's gotta be if you are not picking a drink or drug today! Peace & Serenity, VWGirl
