Detroit,
Just ignore it. That's what I do. Then it blows over and everything's fine again...
For a while.

Gina,
I so wish I could do that pose...ah, I can dream.

Jan,
How do you know you can't? Start taking a yoga class and in a couple of years, who knows what you might be able to do?
Backbends are supposed to be especially good for women's health issues.
How are you this evening?
Love,
Gina

Gina,
I actually took a short lived class a few summers back. I made real progress in my flexiblilty and then injured some spinal nerves. I suppose I could start slow and maybe get there in years to come. Didn't you say you were going to maybe teach a "senior" class? LOL
I am doing pretty good Gina thanks, how you doing?
Jan
edit to say: Oops that sounded like I injured myself in Yoga class...nope, I loved the classes...

Jan,
That's too bad about the injury. It always depresses me when that happens and you have to work to get back to where you were. I pinched a nerve in my neck last January and it took me a year to get flexibility back in my shoulder again.
Yes, in 3 years I'll be 50 and can teach the "senior" class. But don't let the age fool you. Some of the older women in my classes are simply astounding and I've seen them out-yoga the co-eds from UNC campus who come in looking all bored and cocky and leave practically on their knees. LOL
Take a gentle stretch and restore class. If nothing else, it's good for our recovery. Self-care, gratitude, non-judgment, acceptance, being present. Somehow all the messages are the same, on the mat or in a meeting.

Gina

Hey Gulls!
Jan...it is said with yoga, that anything...(ANYTHING), you were (WERE) able to do with your body is always available to you...yoga is the process of remembering.
So, whatever flexibility you have had in the past is just sleeping somewhere silently inside you....waiting to be awakened by the sweet lifeforce of your breath.
Gosh...don't I sound poetic??? I am writing this @@#%()*@#&(!@#& thesis.
Gina, can I pay you???? LOL
Anyway...I hope you guys are okay this evening.
Oh, and Jan...I am so happy about your daughter. I knew she was in transition! You are an amazing example to that young woman, and in turn, she will be an amazing example to others. Isn't that awesome!
Love ya'll.
Sarah

LOL, Sarah, What? Pay me to write your thesis? I'd be happy to cast an eye over it for stylistic suggestions but I doubt you need that. You write beautifully.
Anyway, I yearn for the purity of barter. How about I swap you private yoga lessons for a small painting?
I've got to turn in. It's a school night.
Sweet dreams.
Gina

If I beg will you write my paper??? LMAO
I gotta get back to the grind too.
Have a better tomorrow and pray for the people of Virginia.
Peace.

LMAO, Don't beg, it's not dignified.
What's the paper on? How far along are you? Does it have to be completed by May or can you leave ABD?
Praying for the greater family of Va. Tech. It's my BIL's alma mater. He's pretty upset and this is a man who doesn't get emotional about anything.
Om Shanti, shanti, shanti,
Gina

Johnny-I've been coming to this board for three years and nothing changes too much. There will always be drama and in Spring there is usually some type of meltdown.
Spring is mating season and that makes people even more crazier.LOL....at least it does for me.The flowers are blooming, new life is starting everywhere and not only does nature start making drama but so do people.
My therapist says it's her busiest time of year.
One thing I try to remember this time of year is to take care of myself.
If that means taking a break from here,I will.I also have to remember the simple things like eat,do my morning meditation, make my meeting and book as many appointments in therapy as my pocketbook will allow.
Jane has an excellent post going on right now that deals with anger and resentments.I have to remember that those are luxury's I cannot afford to carry around.Keep it in check.
Take care of yourself Johnny...which you are doing a great job of.All the bullsh*t on here the last couple of weeks will subside."It's an ebb and flow thang."
If you are missing some Drama in your life, then dive in.Frankly,I don't need any more.Left to my own devices I can generate enough on my own.
And if you think about it,it's just a step above 7th grade hijinks.Name calling, nasty e-mails etc.The only difference is when I was in the 7th grade we just met after school and got most problems resolved.LOL

I can remember them days, Tim....word spread through school like fire, fight after school behind the gym...most of the time, it was friends fighting between themselves and I can honestly say, having a daughter in high school, nothing's changed......lol
Johnny,
I was told early on to read the back of my "chip" I had received..."To thine ownself be true"...that's all I can do today is be true to me, take care of me, take responsiblity for my actions and reactions and leave all the other drama and chaos in God's hands.....the 2nd part of the 1st step comes to mind, the unmangeability of my life...when I focus on others and what they're doing right/wrong/indifferent, then I'm shifting the focus from me and today, for me, I have to work on myself and let others take care of themselves but I do pray for them....and the blessing about the internet, you can click off at anytime and go get f2f support which I so very highly recommend to everyone that post's on this site....
xoxo

Johnny, this too shall pass. Seems to come in waves. But there's a lot of good as well. It helped me get and stay clean, so my only suggestion would be to keep coming back....take what you want and leave the rest.
Hey DJ...it is what it is....take what you need and leave the rest. Words to live by when you are part of a little community like this.
Lets all be part of the solution and not the problem that way the virus that spreads quickly with dissipate. Without attention and reaction to the drama....it fades...if we don't feed it...it goes away.
You have really come along way.....I am very proud of you!

People like you Johnny, make this board worth coming back too. Hang in there, today was an awesome example of what this board can do when the trouble makers are gone. Unfortunately, this won't be the last time....but taking care of yourself and getting what you need during times like this will get us all through it.
