The Matrix Model - A Multidimensional Approach To Stimulant Treatment.
This is a federally funded program of intensive out-patient services, usually found in cities where you find Drug Courts. Most clients are court ordered, but you can self refer as well.

S.M.A.R.T. Recovery
This is a free abstinence-oriented (don't drink or use - period) recovery program but doesn't employ the spiritual components of AA and the other 12-Step groups.

Secular Organizations for Sobriety
Many members of this organization also attend AA meetings, as it bears some similarity to AA. However while they espouse abstinence, they also do not have the spiritual component of the 12-Step programs.

Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery began fourteen years ago (1991) at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California by pastor John Baker. Together with Saddleback's senior pastor and author, Rick Warren (The Purpose Driven Life), they developed a recovery philosophy and approach that is distinctly Christian-based.

Oxford House
Here is another often overlooked treatment option, available to allmost everyone including Women and their children.
Each House represents a remarkably effective and low cost method of preventing relapse. This was the purpose of the first Oxford House established in 1975, and this purpose is served, day by day, house after house, in each of over 1,200 houses in the United States today.

The Teen Challenge organization is a Christian based treatment program and has been dealing with addiction for many years and they are celebrating their 50th year this year. The addicts that complete the one (1) year IP program have a very high success rate.

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT, most treatment facilities do offer free or reduced cost opportunities. Often they call this a scholarship, it's basically a "pro bono" deal. Even some of the most exclusive in-patients facillites do this.
If you are in Washington check out Lakeside-Milam, they do it all, level 1, 2 and 3. And the treatment is first rate.

What an invaluable post. Thank you to everyone who devoted the time required to compile such a comprehensive list.
I belong to a parents' panel which advocates for parents to have better access to drug treatment facilities should their addicted children need placement in one of them.. We have been identifying the problem areas or the barriers that typically get in the way of finding a good treatment center.

The first problem cited was that parents and loved ones of addicts don't have any idea where to start when they begin their quest for appropriate treatment facilities, and they don't even know what to look for in the way of "appropriate" treatment. This comprehensive list you have supplied will certainly provide a good start to those trying to choose the right treatment facility.
