I bought a bottle of this awhile ago but never used it after opening it because it smelled horrible. Smelled almost like Lisas voodoo dolls lol. No other way to put it. Is that how they smell? Have been meaning to return to vitamin store where I bought them but thats always the bottom of my list of things to do. I will be returning them just to check it out but can anyone shed some light on this - is it normal that they smell this bad?
Not only do they stink, if you take them you get that icky taste in your mouth. The one's I had did anyway. That was a while back. Maybe they've improved them or I got cheap ones but they were nasty. Try Sleepy Time tea. I think there's some in there. I know it has chamomile anyway.
or melatonin...it's wonderful and over the counter....no taste at all and it's a small pill.
yes ,they do smell, but thats herbs for you, anything that taste bbad or smell bad in the proper way is good for you,,and things that taste or smell ever so good ,or bad for you,,thats rite,,oo there are some good things that taste good that are good for you,,hehehepoopie,,donna
Well there is no way I would put one of these in my mouth. I dont care if they sent me to the moon and back, the smell is wicked. I just didnt see how this could be possible. Hopefully, Ill get over to the vitamin store this week and check out another bottle and then return them. At the time, the guy in the store recommended them over melatonin ( I have since picked up melatonin to keep in cabinet for nights when necessary). Really dont see any need for the valerian root anyway since as suggested I do have the sleepy time teas, etc which are mellowing enough. Thanks for inputs.
Donna,
V-root does smell bad and in powder form is not very tasty. It is, however, very effective in relieving anxiety and helps promote sleep. It works and is fairly safe...can't say the same for a lot of the prescription antidepresants. I take V-root every now and then and get a pretty damned good nights sleep, but 3mg of melatonin is very efective too.
