Vision Problems

Hi

I'm 4 days into withdrawing from pot and am having problems with my vision.
My eyes are hard to focus and my right one is blurry most of the time.
It seems to have started when I stopped smoking and I was wondering if there was anyone else out there who had expereinced this problem or had heard of it, or if it's even related to detoxing at all???
Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Riki

Riki,

I am experiencing this problem currently as well. I thought it was just me or that my contacts must be acting up or something but maybe not? I have been driving alot in the snow at night and its been scary a few times. I thought my sight was supposed to get better!? LOL Oh well I just hope it clears. I haven't used any eye drops like my hubby said I should but might look into it if things don't get better. Let me know how things are going and congratualtions on a good start. I honestly CANNOT believe that I am still hangin in there. Still can't admit that it might be for good and thats ok. One day at a time. Its become a chant. lol Think Positive and remember Augusts advice about HALT
Hungry, angry, Lonely, Tired..and avoiding these things. Its worked well for me.
Wishing you all the best,
Me
Hi there AEA

Thanks for your reply.
First off, congrats on still hanging in there. How many days/weeks are you up to if you don't mind me asking?
Pot sure does some crazy things to the body huh?!
After I'd posted I had a quick browse through the detox site that August reccomended and it did mention that a very small number of people will expereince vision problems and they should clear up after a while.
My concern is that I may have permanantly damaged my vision. I wear glasses/contacts full time already so would hate to have done more damage.
Is a bit of a worry though because I can feel the muscles in the back of my eye straining while they try to focus. It also feels like I'm looking out through a fog.
I do have eye soothing drops but they don't really do anything so may have to see the Dr if it doesn't improve?
I too am doing the one day at a time chant, although there are times when it's one minute at a time, but that's all I can ask of myself and like you, I don't know how I feel about admitting it may be for good. It just sounds so permanant and so final and so bl#*+#y scarey!!!!!
Augusts HALT advice is a great idea and makes such a lot of sense, but don't you think it's funny that they are the first four things that strike you when you begin to detox!! Sleep and appetite are long gone and lonliness and anger are all too willing to take their place...
Still, we can only do our best and I think it's great you are surprising yourself with how long you've been clean. You must be totally courageous.

Go well,

Riki
