Hello;) I just wanted to let you know, or remind you, how much you have done for me. Vw, i truly mean this from the bottom of my heart. I don't really know how to put it, (cause i suck with words;) but you and i are ALOT alike, and that's why i think i had my little "FIT" that one day...because you were saying something that "i" for one needed to hear but the truth hurt so i got defensive. LOL....I don't know if this made any sense, but it was meant in a good way;)
I guess i just wanted to let you know that i think you rock;))
Jayde, thanks so much...could you call my daughters and let them know that you think I rock? They think I suck! Especially, my youngest daughter today...she called to be released from school...because she wasn't feeling well and I thought I'd do a spot check and pop in to the apt to see if she was here...and surprise, she wasn't ...she was hangin' at the Library...could be worse I know, but it gets to me when 1) she was suppose to go straight home and 2) cause I have no idea where she is...she's the one who was arrested in January and was facing a felony which was reduced to a misdeamor. She's definitely a challenge.
I'm glad you can identify and relate to me and my story...if my experience, strength and hope just helps one addict and/or alcoholic embrace sobriety than I am doing what I'm suppose to be doing...I was told when I first got sober that I can't keep this (sobriety) unless I give it away. Service keeps me out of my head; especially if I go on a panel to a Psych hospital or institution....it just reminds what is waiting for me out there should I decide to pick up a drink.
Glad you are doing well my friend! Again, could you call the Girls for me? LOL!

Yeah VW i'll call the girls for you, but could you please send me some of those Hot Tamales!? LOL...i went to 3 different stores yesterday before i found some! LOL...i was craving them so bad after we talked about them, and i just had to have some, and i'm like WTF...it's easier to buy pot in this town than it is to get a box of Hot Tamales. ;) LOL...........
Anyways, sorry you're going through this with your daughter, i don't really have much advice to give since my only child is only going to be 3 in August, but i can say that if she's anything like i was, she will do what she wants to do no matter what, and the more you bug her, the more she'll rebel. When i pulled stuff like that i knew my parents were doing what was right for me, but only now will i admit it;)
Sorry i started to ramble, i hope i made some kind of since; lol.......didn't help any though sorry;)

Jayde, no need to apologize at all...thank you for sharing how it was for you as a teen...my daugher thinks she "runs the show" and I know if I nag her I get nowhere, in fact it would become much worse. So, I try to take away things she values when she acts out....also, I've got the Driving Permit as my trump card...she's not getting a Driving permit unless I can trust her to act responsibly...also, I just want to say she is not a super wild kid, at least that I know of....but I'm not with her 24/7...she still has compassion for others, gets good grades and just loves animals. She really just doesn't like herself that much...she doesn't value herself that much. Thank God I'm sober to walk through all this with her.
That was too funny about the pot...maybe you could start bootlegging candy out there ~ lol! Seriously, though it must be nice to live away from the crowds.

Hey VW;)...i should start bootlegging Hot Tamales! lol....yeah it is sort of nice to live in the boonies, but it's a big tourist area, because i live on one of the biggest Lakes in Wi...and in the summer all the seasonals come around. It was really fun when i used to party, could meet alot of different people, and the nearest town is just tiny, and just packed with people everywhere you go on the weekends ;( I'm not much of a crowd person anymore...just like to get my stuff and get the heck out of there;)
I've never been to Cali, but i'd LOVE to make it there someday!
You're daughter sounds like she might just be going through a faze....that's great that she keeps her grades up and respects people! That is more than alot of parents can say! My brothers daughter was a straight A student until 8th grade, (she just turned 16), she started running with the wrong crowd, and failed the 8th grade, just barely made it the second time, and she just barely made it through 9th grade. They don't know what they're going to do with her. Her Mom grounds her, and she sneaks out and one weekend even told her Mom she was staying with her Dad (my brother,( they're divorced) and he lives up North by me 200 miles away from her) and her Mom called my brother Sunday night wondering what time she would be home! This was after she had been gone since Thursday, because there was no school on Friday! They're just too damn sneaky these days;)

Wow, you're niece sounds like a handful too! I hope you are right that my daughter may be going through a phase...however, ever since she's been real little she's liked the dark side of life...I remember when she was about 6 years old...we were at a street fair and I let her pick out a necklace, what did she pick out but one with a coffin that opens and closes with a skeleton inside. She is still into the skull and crossbone stuff...and her hair color changes every week! Like I said though she doesn't come across as mean spirited, however she is hyper-sensitive and creates very high drama out of fairly common situations. Thanks for sharing with me...it offers insight to me which I appreciate.
PS-I have friends who live in WI and they live by the Lake....they own a boat, I'm pretty sure. I hope you can make it to SoCal some day, it's actually a pretty cool place...I'd love to visit the mid-West!

Wow, that is a little freaky about the coffin;)
It seems like alot of teens change their haircolor often. My neice went thru a phase (lol, i spelled it right) awhile back and died her hair pitch black! Then had to have it stripped because once it's that dark you can't get it back to normal until it grows out. Also the last time i saw my cousin, his hair was purple;)
Where in Wi do your friends live?

Jayde,
I'm okay with the hair color changes...but right now she is going through a relationship crisis...it is so sad to watch her be in so much pain...but I made her something to eat...brought her a kleenex and gave her hug...I told her I am there for her when she is ready to talk...my oldest daughter stopped by to console her.
About the friends in WI, they kinda took the ex-husband's side in the divorce...I looked in my address book and I must have deleted them ~ lol! I'm gonna find out where they live in WI, and let you know...it's bothering me that I can't remember!
