Went for a lovely walk today, four hours through bluebell woods where birdsong filled the air. The trees are turning green and primroses nestled under hedges edging fields full of white flowers.....beautiful.....we followed the map and climbed over a style, walking into a large field laced with broken hedges.....a herd of cows trotted towards us, and I wondered why they were so eager to see us....wait a minute, said my friend....they're not cows....and standing in the open as 30-40 young bulls trotted towards us I suddenly felt a little less serene....my friend picked up a log and screamed at them....quite a voice for such a pretty young girl.....they turned and ran, then slowed down, looked shamefaced at each other, turned, looked her up and down and like a gang of young lads faced down by a bouncer decided to call her bluff......they charged.... they slowed to a walk ten yards away but they kept coming, strength in numbers lol....I had to do something, I couldn't let my female friend protect me! lol....so I shouted and they stopped in their tracks....then I went mad.....fear probably......I charged them.... and they turned and ran.....so we made another twenty yard dash while they were running the other way.....then they turned again and charged after us...so I turned back and charged them again and they ran away....30 yards this way, 20 yeards that.....my friend would have videoed it but she was laughing too much. Each time I charged at them they let me get closer and closer before they ran away....I had visions of getting right up to them and them just looking at me.....like..."ok, what now pal?" lol....it went on for about ten minutes as we made our zig-zag way across THEIR field....
God DEFINITELY has a sense of humour.
What a great day.
Martin, you just made me laugh so much! That was abrilliant story, also, Bluebell woods are fantastic aren't they? My dad used to take us to ones round here when we were younger... I miss that...
LMAO....I wish I could have seen that....
As I was reading, I couldn't help but wonder if bull leading the herd was named SKG...LOLOL
But, on a serious note, I am glad you and your friend didn't get hurt and got to enjoy some of God's creatures....
I adore cows & bulls....they have the simple life...
xoxo
