LOL.... Whats been going on lately ?????
I will tell you what happened.. Everyone was giving their opinion on the black and white issue, mixed children and gay lifestyles etc.. Vinny comes in and says he doesn't believe in living a gay lifestyle.. He was NOT talking about April, just giving his thoughts. April jumps in like always taking offense to something blowing it way out of proportion.. Then it got a little heated..No big deal. Now I don't know what Vinny said towards the end of the post that got removed but all I know is April didn't see it.. Well I didn't see a post that was written to about me not that long ago, cause the mod's removed it. A little birdy told me about it..Is it fair that sharon isn't banned?? She said on March 10th"She's just a cruel joke Lisa, like a sad clown with so much built up anger. I pity you Rae.Thanks Lisa, but she just is not worth you getting into trouble. I should avoid such ignorance, but right now its hard too.

i agree, and vinny was wrongly singled out in my opinion, i think it was all just taken out of context and if she was name called vinny was pushed. i did not see the post in question myself either. poor vinny can net get a break around here. he truely is a great guy that means well brings lots of smiles to the board and is loved by many, i mean his silly posts gets more hits then any i have seen lol but i dont think he will cry if he is banned, he works long hours anyway. but still i sure do hope he is allowed to come around. i know if in fact he did say something derogatory, he would be the first to apologise and be the bigger person, even if he was wrongly provoked and singled out. that much i did witness.

I can't really comment on family drama on the board. My family drama went center stage on this forum a few weeks ago with blinking marquee lights. It was humiliating for me and certainly not something I wanted to happen. I just had no power over it! But it did happen and made me the wrong person to comment on public family drama, so I will keep my mouth shut on that one.

It is sad that a very serious topic that lost love posted about, requesting PRAYERS for a BRUTALLY MURDERED young boy and his family, turned into (whatever it turned into, I missed it.) I think it is disrespectful, at best, and perhaps should have been moved to another thread.
I do believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, of course. But some opinions, such as the ones that are hurtful to others, should not be posted.
Yes, there are millions of people who do not believe in living a gay lifestyle, or that gays should be allowed to marry, or that they will be accepted into heaven, etc.
There are millions of people who believe that couples of mixed race should not have children.
There are millions of people who hate people for being black, white, middle-eastern, asian, hispanic, etc.
Millions of people hate others for their religious preference.
There are people out there who do not like overweight people.
There are rich people who make fun of poor people and think they are lazy.
There are people who abuse animals for fun.
I could go on and on.
For the record, I am none of those people.
The bottom line is, it is offensive to most people when someone feels the need to talk about discriminating subjects, such as these. Such thoughts are best discussed among people who share those particular beliefs. Otherwise, inevitable controversy will ensue. So, yes to each his/her own...believe what you choose to believe...and have the opinion you choose to have. Nobody can control what anyone else thinks or believes.
But, unless someone wants to start controversy, and hurt feelings, then these types of opinions are best left off of a forum like this one. It has nothing to do with addiction recovery. We have such a diverse group of posters here, and someone is bound to take offense or be hurt by someone else's words.
JMO...but I could care less how people choose to live their lives. As long as it does not hurt me or anyone else...go for it. I might not agree, but I certainly would never post my opinion if there was even the slightest chance that someone would have hurt feelings. That is tacky and uncouth.
If all the world could learn to treat one another with love and kindness, and be more tolerant of others' beliefs, then the world would be a better place.
BTW, if you personally believe that what someone thinks or does is wrong, pray for them...don't post about them. (Unless of course, you don't believe in prayer.)

Personal attacks aren't fun, are they? In fact they suck. Stick to the subject at hand instead of going after someone just because they may think differently than you and then threads wouldn't go "poof". If you have an opinion, that's one thing, but to make it personal and try to hurt someone with cruel words, that's another. It's addictive behavoir and it sucks.
Just curious, why copy threads that are conterversial? If the mods delete them, it's probably a good indication that they need to be forgotten about and not sent all over cyberspace. Just creates more bad feelings. Just my opinion.

I will never post any thread that deals with controversial issues again. I now can see how hurtful some of the board members can be. I was so hurt by what had happened down the road from me and thought I would get some support or be able to get some feelings off my chest.
