Someone help! My 31 year old is high out of his mind talking to himself. I am going to kick him out of my house but don't know if I should wait until he is somewhat sane first. What is the right thing to do?
Hi, I'm sorry your going through this and I know it's scary. You didn't say what kind of drug he is taking but it sounds like Meth. Is he doing the drugs in your house and maintaining this high throughout the day? Is it safe for you to tell him to leave? If so I'd tell him to leave! If your afraid of him in this state, which I would be. Call the police and explain the situation and they'll make him leave. Be careful and take care of yourself. Mary.

My son uses meth. They can have psychosis .. a break from reality .. extreme paranoia. Reasoning with them and trying to bring them down does no good. Waiting for it to pass usually does not work, at that point they need sedation and professional help. Law enforcement can forcibly take them to a mental health hospital. If your son gets too out of control call 911 and tell them he is using drugs and you need help. You can ask for a mental health officer if you live in the county and are serviced by the sheriff's department. I would get all children out of your house and be careful .. they don't know what they are doing. The hospitals keep them long enough to stabilize them and you can talk to him more about the situation when he gets out.
