I really dont know what the hell happened to me, almost 6 months ago i tired pot for the first time. I had heard all these great things about it, but the effects it had on me were anything but great. Firstly i was so scared of the feeling it gave me, i felt so weird, dissorientated, it was like being in a dream, but totally paranoid, i thought i was going to die! Everything seemed really echoy or something. The next day i felt totally depressed, and continued to do so for some time afterwards, i began taking the worst panic attacks imaginable. I somwhow had this feeling for ages the high wouldreturn even if i had smoked any more! I somehow got these kind of flashbacks, which i imagine is weird for cannibas.
I was so shaken after ive never touched the stuff since, i even get afraid standing with people who are smoking it. Ive met so many people(practically everyone i know has smoked pot) and no one has ever experiebced the the amount of fear i did with it. I was just wondering if anyone knew wat the hell the story was with it, was it the pot?, was it laced? did i smoke to much first time? or is it the fact im an anxious person and it made me worse?
Also is it possible to actually become high merely from standing beside someone who is smoking pot?
I doubt that anyone can tell you with certainty whether you smoked laced pot. It is possible, of course.
I got some pot laced with DMT once and the resultant trip was very extreme, not unlike what you described but more in the order of a very intense LSD trip. I had flashbacks for several weeks after that experience. Unlike you, however, I smoked all of it despite the intense paranoia it bestowed on me. I also used to lace my own pot with mushrooms occassionally.
I think laced pot is somewhat unusal in that the drugs used to lace the pot often cost more than the pot itself. For this reason, I think laced pot "on the street" is a rarity. If however, you were shareing in someone's private stash, the odds might be better to run into some laced pot.
Back in my using days I had a girlfriend and she used to get very paranoid, very anxious when we smoked pot. She quit smoking altogether and I quit smoking when I was around her.
These days, some of the pot on the street is very potent, and it might be that you just got a very potent strain. Sometimes people report getting a "contact high" when they are near the odor of pot. As to dosage, it varies with potency. In my younger days we would smoke large amounts of commerical grade pot. With high potency pot, two or three tokes are more than enough to send you into orbit.
My guess is that the ill effects that you are experiencing will probably diminish in time, but it might not be a bad idea to seek help with a psychiatrist in the meantime.
Good luck
