What's Up With The Patch?

Hello to all...Newbie here....
Does anyone know why a NR patch should not be cut into section?
I was sent 2 boxes of 21mg transdermal and they are just WAY too strong.
Don't see any sense in increasing my nicotine usage in order to help me quit.
DUH?

I think the reason they tell you not to cut them is so that the nic gets administered evenly. But I have heard of people cutting them anyway. If they are too strong go ahead and try cutting them and see what happens. If it doesn't work, sell what you have and buy a lower dose. Good luck on your quit!
I to have heard of folks cutting them so if you need to cut them go ahead, nothing bad is going to happen. I used the patch system with success, starting at 21 mg , 14 and then 7mg. It really worked for me.

Good luck with your quit

Last time I quit I cut the patches and nothing horrible happened. I agree, even the lowest doseage was way too strong for me. The only reason I can think you wouldn't want to cut them is because the middle part of the patch where the nicotine releases from is right at the edge and maybe could seep out and, I don't know, stain clothes or something??~shrug~
