I feel great because I have been sober for 145 days. Friday will be five months if I make it. I have decided to retire forever from drinking. There is no reason for me to go back, I can handle anything sober. So I am really not worried about picking up before the 5 month mark.
I have been gone for a while, more vacation. I don't think I will be going anywhere else for a long time. Work says no more time off. But I love being sober!!! Who cares about working? It is a beautiful thing.

LL, So glad you've been able to enjoy your summer....work does get in the way sometimes, doesn't it....lol....I've been told at meetings: "Whadda ya mean you have to go to work, no you get to go to work...", usually by some oldtimer with a million years of sobriety....too funny. I know I've posted before that I've noticed a significant change in your posts, whatever you are doing keep doing it...5 months this Friday, absolutely magnificent.
Hey Vwgirl, love the saying you get to go to work!! I really don't like working in the summer, but hey, life is what you make it!! Glad things are going well with you, love the pic you and your b/f look wonderful together :)

I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering how the fishing trip was going. Sounds like you had a great holiday. Glad you are back and enjoying your sober life.
VW - yup its all in attitude isn't it? I often resent my job and forget to be grateful for it, I need to remind myself often.

I wanted to go fishing when I was up in the mountains a week and half ago, but it was just too hot...spent a lot of time in my Parent's RV, some camping ~ lol!
I've never been so grateful for my job as when they announced our contract would be terminated..I just got complacent after 22 years and thought, well they've seen me thru many a hard time, I've got nothing to worry about, hah ~ boy did I learn different...I'm not sure when I will start my new job, but to be honest with all of you I'm scared and nervous about the change...I don't like change!

Change is hard but its part of life, life is constant change, the more you accept it as part of you the less resistance you will feel. Think of it like this: our bodies are changing all the time, skin is dying and being replaced, nails growing, hair getting cut and growing more, our cells die and are replaced over and over again. The cycle happens without us even being aware of it. Change is really about renewal and renewal is a good thing...

Wow Idgie....that was a very inspirational post to VW. I am gonna put that one in the vault! I loved it pal!! I am definately going to use the renewal process for an analogy when I am feeling freaked out about all the changes around me. Thanks as always for your words!! :)
