Hi Everyone,
Talk about willing to go to any length....my Sponsor that I've had since Day 1 (22 November 2003) moved to Tennessee in July and I've continued to have her as my Sponsor, but it's been tough, cause she can't see me and read me, and sometimes I can't be 100% with her about what's going on like when she was living here because she could see it in my eyes when something was wrong and would drag it out of me......so I decided to pick a new Sponsor, I've tried to work with a few ladies here and there but never a good fit, so I found one last week and we've been talking and I am gonna start working with her. Well, H (my Tenn Sponsor) calls me at 8:30 pm last night, what are you doing...etc? Well, come to find out she flew all the way here from Tenn to surprise me and showed up on my doorstep at 9:30 pm last night with my sobriety sister (her other Sponsee) ~ talk about shocked, I think I still am. Well, it just goes to show that folks in AA will go to any length to help others stay clean and sober. She has taught me when a hand reaches out for help, AA always extends it hand back to be of service......well, needless to say since I work the Steps, I had to let her know I chose to have a new Sponsor here, and she was okay with it, but that's how it should be.....I was afraid to tell her, that's my pride in reverse working and my people pleasing mechanism kicking in....my Tenn Sponsor will be giving me a cake tonight and I am going to celebrate with my lady friends tonight and am so looking forward to it! Geri...Enjoy your cake and day today...You deserve it...You have worked hard and have been through a lot...and yes when willing to go to an lengths...so much is possible...so much...
My first sponser moved to Florida...She moved about a month before my 90 days...When I went to go up and get my coin...she surprised me and came out of the kitchen to give it to me...Everyone knew but me! What a moment...thank you for reminding me of how special...how wonderfully giving people can be...

The tournament is winding down...we have our last 2 games today and so far are in first place....tomorrow heading back to Manhattan Beach for the day...and then catch the red eye back home...It has been a wonderful vacation...but am ready to be home...of course this weather here is absolutely delightful...and Palm Springs is so beautiful and peaceful...

I love Palm Springs too ~ I'd love to retire there....me and my sister usually go down there every year for a mini vacation.

Okay now some mom-tooting...my daughter's team won the tournament...they are the #1 team in the USA for the under-16 age group...just so exciting...they are a wonderful bunch of girls and really define team effort...and the coaches are the just the best...
