Wind In My Sails

From today's Daily Reflections:

QUOTE
... I know today that if I cannot change the wind, I can adjust my sail. I know the difference between superstition and spirituality. I know there is a graceful way of being right, and many ways to be wrong.

I attend an Open Meeting--one with visitors that don't nessarily want to be there (invited by the court system), hurting people on their way to a rehab clinic, others coming back and visiting on Individual OutPatient (IOP) programs, as well as newcomers who are there because they were threatened, beaten into submission, or (like me) sick and tired of being sick and tired.

One of the most volitile subject for AA meetings will always be "The God Thing," and today was no exception. The rolling eyes, the Thumpers, the wanna-be alcoholics, and the seasoned alcoholics that sat quietly and watched as the meeting progressed. I know where I fit, now, because it's not about promotion but attraction: "If you're ready to go to any lengths to get what we have, you're ready to take certain steps."

The easiest one is simply to listen.
