Hello Everyone
I have not had a smoke for almost 2 weeks now and I am feeling very proud of myself but want to check that the feelings i am geting are normal and I am not loosing it?
I wouldnt consider myself a heavy smoker, maybe 2 joints in the evening while watching TV. The first week of withdrawal I was okay, my sleep was affected slightly but not terribly. Anyway after about 5 days I started sweating like crazy in my sleep and that lasted for 3 or 4 nights. Then the past few days I have had the worst headaches of my whole life everyday and all day but have been drinking loads of water and taken the occassionaly panadol to ease the pain. I also have been feeling very anxious and have been worrying and thinking about stuff that doesnt normally bother me and my brain is working a million miles and hour - I hate that constant anxiuos feeling in my tummy all the time. Is all of this normal and how long more should I expect it to last?
I have smoked pretty consistenly for 10 years cutting down massively over the past few years. I plan to fall pregant in the next 12 months so want to give my baby the best chance and get this crap out of my system.
I just need some reassuarance that I am going to be okay and this crap will pass.
Thanks
Hello Alicat
Yes - what you are going thro is pretty normal hey!!! The headaches will go after about a week or more depending on how your boady copes with detoxing all that ugly yucky stuff outta your beautiful temple!!!
And those sweats are also part of the detoxing process!
Are you on anti depressants?? All that traffic going on in your head is normal coz you are anxoius and whilst you been on the smoke you dont get so anxious!!! If you not on A/D's best NOT to go on them and try get natural A/D's - go to the pharmacy and ask for natural herbal products that will calm you down! Make you less anxious! AND they do work!
Good on you for giving up and wanting the baby you have down the line to be clean and dope free! I dont want children but have been advised if I do to be at least one year clean! So you on the right track girl!!!
Look forward to chatting with you and the support we will gain from each other.
Got a quote from Buddha:
The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly!
Keep positive and be honest with yourself! Say thanks every opportunity you get - thanks for another hour / day of not smoking!
If you havent seen or read The Secret - I recommend you do so!!!!!!!!!!
Ciao Simone

Well done Alicat! Good going! Glad you got some St Johns Wort - excellent stuff! Also glad to know you arent on any other meds like the rest of us!!
Yes your hubby should give up the smoke if he wants children! Coz his sperm will have THC in it and this will definitely affect the embryo! Did you log onto the web site WW recommened? Dr Amen?? Should do so - coz it is very interesting and gives you a good idea just what the smoke does to your brain!! Now imagine the rest of your body!!
Anytime you wanna chat and need support - I will be there! Or here - well on / in side my computer!!
Take care Sweetheart!

First and foremost I am an alocholic, and so i understand the sweat ordeal totally. For me, the racing thoughts and scatterbrain syndrome was my real issue, just felt nervous and anxious. My experience has been it takes about 3 weeks for a new habit or schedule to solidify in me. Congrats on quitting. The first couple weeks is the hardest. If you can get through that, and it sounds like you are, everything will work out.
