Just found this site yesterday. I started using Norco last fall for fibromyalgia. LOVED them at first. Thought they were an answer to prayer. Boy was I wrong. I have gone from 1/2 of one every 4 hours to 2 1/2 every 4 hours and needed to go up from there. Was taking 10+ a day. I got sick of feeling weird...in a fog....missing appts. ...being late everywhere! I decided Monday to give up cold turkey and try to move on and find some other way to deal w/ my fibro pain. I am sweating and aching like crazy!!! Hubby says I should have tapered off, but I was just THROUGH w/ those pills. How long does this depression, pain, sweating, weakness, etc., last? Can anyone help me? Thanks!!!!
Dear Achey,
I just wanted to welcome you to the board and congratulate you on your decision. I know how hard it is to quit anything, especially something you happen to like. I don't know much about the drug Norco (maybe I know it as something else) For me during my withdrawl, it took approx 7 days to start to feel better, but maybe someone with more experience on Norco will speak up.
Be kind to yourself during this time. Do whatever you want, sleep if you can, eat what you want, and try to go for a little walk if you feel up to it. Have lots of baths or showers, and write to us here to let us know you are o'kay.
Hope you are making it another day.
Stay strong.
Nancy

Achey,
Hello and Welcome. I am not familiar with Norco, but I know that going cold turkey can be dangerous (depending on the amounts of meds you were taking) I am new to recovery and really not educated enough to tell you what and how to do something. I think you should talk with your doctor and get advise from him. There is no reason for you to go through any physical pain.
I wish you all the luck in the world. With your addiction and your medical condtion.
You are in my prayers,
I love you
Shay

achey-
I am right there with you. I have been taking Norco for the last 7-8 months (about the same as you). I have been taking up to 20 a day. (Norco is hydrocodone, for those who don't know- its 10mg/325). I have been tapering down- possibly too fast and finally admitted to my doctor today that I have a probelm. I am looking into different treatment options. I think we both have a bit of a "rocky road" ahead of us. I know from trying to quit before- the worst of it is the first 3 days. After that you're able to start sleeping again- though beleive me- I know 3 days can seem like 3 months! But I'm sure you'll get through it. I'm determined this time.
