Withdrawal From Tylenol W/codeine

I am a 37 year old female who has fibromyalgia and after several years of being off work, I went back to part time. I would like to go full time to a better paying job but I am on Tylenol w/codeine to help with the constant pain and everytime the employers do a drug test, they refuse me employment because it comes back positive. Even though I need the medication to be able to work, I have to go off of it in order to get a decent job, How do I get off of this medication and how long does it take to leave my system?
Hi Dusty and welcome. Before I answer, if they're prescribed meds from a dr for a legitimate ailment, why does that effect you being hired? Doesn't seem fair to me. Love, Kat
Hi,
First, if you show a doctor's note saying you need to take this, they have to excuse that if it shows up. From your wording it sounds like you've had alot of jobs, by the way you said everytime you go for a decent job you get off the meds. I may be way off here, I apologize if I am, but it sounds to me like your looking for info on how long before a drug test you need to stop using; I for one, as I'm sure others will agree, aren't here to help with that kind of info, we aren't a "How To" group. But if your looking to get clean, tell us about yourself and your situation a little and I'd be more than happy to try and help in any way I can.

Take care............Bob
Yes this discrimination tylenol 3s I used to take them before the perks and the only withdrawl i got from them were a few days of headaches. Try to get off them at least so you can pass the drug test once your off them for a while you might be able to get along with advil they work good too after your body gives up on trying to get you to take the threes and the withdrawl on them only bothered me for a few days see if you can do it good luck to you Tracey
yaeh i don't see why if they were priscribed(sp?)and you're not abusing them, why it would be a problem..i've been on pills for a problem and taken a test w/o a problem from the employer..
any way good luck to you....dj
