painpill thats what i am going thru "hypomania" i go to sleep at 10pm and wake up at 2 am and cant go back to sleep until daybreak, i dont want anymore pills i just want to sleep so i am not tired and depressed all day, i am in the 2week period of being free of these nasty things, i can just go to any Dr. tell him my situation and get antidepressants? and after that when i need to get health insurance (which i do not have now) i won't have to pay more in premiums?

I think the main point from many of us here is to check out all the options before you go into it since you're giving yourself time. The other thing is to discuss it with your physician so he/she knows what's happening and can help if you need it and so you know where they sit on the fence. You have to know where to go if things get tough. We cannot really tell you just how it will be but people relapse everyday because of the discomfort and not being able to take it one more day and for many other reasons. See sometimes we think we can do just fine without help. My friend did this. Then she got into trouble and noone really helped her. She could have had meds to help with the withdrawl, she certainly was ready but lived in a small rural area and NOONE knew enough to help her so she had to live with this very horrible withdrawal for an extra 2 wks til she found someone else. She tried to get apts with a pain clinic and noone could see her for a month. The choice is yours but be prepared because this will not in any way be fun or easy. Anyway, best of luck to ya. Love, PM

don't have an online life actually. The two or three posts I throw here occassionally are actually to help people whereas yours are to outlet your medical psychological issues (as I believe was described by your friend). Inferiority might be something you want to look into as it seems you are always the one trying to cut into people and hurt them and act like the expert. For all we know you are some drug dealer on the streets of Louisianna. I can't believe they let you sit here and dole out medical advice like you are actually someonw with credentials. People look to you like you are a medical professional but for all we know you are Jo blo from the alamo.
But then again it's amazing how low we as addicts can turn when we are looking for someone to make us feel better. At least you are always here swimming around feeding on the bottom, biting when you can. oh you are my HERO!!

Yes, advice can qualify for med malpractice or unauthorized practice, depending on the status of one's licnese, while an opinion, even if offerred with the force of advice and a medical seal of approval, presumably does not? Just curious.

The reason I said that I offer opinions only is that I feel it is a bad idea to give advice either in real life or online. Look up the definition of advice and compare it to an opinion.
Malpractice is of no concern here because as far as I know no one is practicing their profession here at this forum.

PainPill, I assure you that I am a lawyer, and have been a member of the Bar in good standing for 19 years. Before that I was a certified public accountant. As for practicing with or without a license of medicine, you might wish to check with your carrier about what you are doing here. I see members of the plaintiff's bar make cases like this all the time.

PM and Jeep--I'll skip everything else.....I am a lover not a fighter... PM You hit the nail on the head!! Exactly what I am looking for... A plan and then a back up plan. I like to go into a situation knowing everything I can about it. You guys are giving me that. I need to be able to speak intelligently. I have had drs say when I am ready we will slowly taper off your dosage. I want to be able to so NO. this is why...... Then I want to say: what about methadon, and what about detox? Here are my reasons why I can't wean slowly and this is why I believe methadone will help me Do you know what I mean?? There are not very many physicians educated in pain management and pills. You are giving me the knowledge I need to speak intelligently. We all have be advocates for our pain, etc. this helps.... SO THANK YOU ALL for your great help.

Thanks for helping me out with the other board! I know exactly what you mean. I did not practice what I've preached. I was impatient and emotional so I just quit but I learned alot!!! And no I"m not clean anymore for anyone wondering. But I'm off Oxy for several days now. I still need Norco for pain. Actually my pain doc when I returned after about 2 wks of hell was really really helpful. See I thought I could wean very fast. Well .... okay I stopped cold turkey (that's fast)but I had tried once before to stop over a 2 wk period. I did not know just how
s l o w l y you really have to go to do it without suffering. Even my other doctor said this time cut my dose in half xs 1 wk then stop. Yeah right, I think I'm gonna put her on my meds and do the same for her and allow her to feel what she is advising. Okay, maybe not, I'd have to kidnap her for several weeks drop her pills in her drink and then rehab her. I'd be in jail and my brother would have to come get me and represent me and I'd have to plead insanity and who knows what might happen!!! LOL But I wish they knew a little what they were suggesting!!! So Lynette I'm all for you learning every single thing you can about this before diving into the pool. You have a family to consider as well. I'm happy you are going for it and wish you all the best.

My guess is that you have an addiction problemthat much would appear obvious.
My guess is that you are young, not much more than college age. Either that or you are severely retarded socially.
My guess is that you do not have much time since your last relapse. Probably less than 2 years.
My guess is that due to your immaturity and perhaps your addiction, you have been denied some sort of opportunity, either to attend med school or perhaps pharmacy school.
My guess is that you come onto this board to compensate for your lack of success in real life and attempt to pose as more of a professional than you are.
My guess is that in attaching that Medical Seal as your Avatar (my eyesight is too poor to see what it says), you are attempting to give your self a heightened air of credibility on issues of medicine and pharmacology than would be possessed by the average person, and that you are attempting to induce a sense of reliance on your statements due to same.
My guess is that if you induce said reliance in a negligent fashion and someone is injured at the result, then regardless of your status as a professionaly, you well might find yourself at risk for legal damages.
My guess is that you dispense much of your wisdom in an unwise fashion, not in accord with accepted professional standards, but I could be wrong on this one.
My guess is that if someone were to have a claim against you, it would be a relatively easy matter to learn all we need to know about you in order to enable me to sue your diaper off your little smelly butt.
