I know that I just posted almost the same thing, but I had a few questions about withrawl from vicodin:
-frequent urination
-chills (and always being cold)
-dhiarea ( i can't spell)
-weakness
-crying A LOT
Please let me know if this is normal, and what else there is to expect, and if anyone can give me a time frame on how long this will last. I am on day 2 of no pills. Thanks. britney
Britney - Two days is great! What you are experiencing now is normal (all the symptoms you mentioned). Someone else had mentioned in an earlier posting that the physical part varies. Figure 7-10 days to be safe. The physical part is only a piece though. The mental part regarding getting your energy back and staying clean takes some outside help...maybe.
Go easy on yourself. Try not to feel guilty about your child. You will be better off in the long run.

Those are definately withdrawal symptoms Brit. For me the third day was always the worst, but the first two are no picnic either. The first time I cold turkeyed the worst syptoms lasted a couple days then I was just tired for a few more, before I felt better. Everyones different and alot depends on how long and bad your vic habit was.
You should be over the worst part Brit if this is your first time. Hang in there you'll start feeling better. Take immodium, warm baths, motrin, drink lots of water, take vitamins, all that should help.
Good luck

thank you for your thoughts. But I keep thinking that I will forever always have that "want" for the pills. Does that ever end?
I really need some help here. I feel like this is how I am going to feel forever.
Someone please talk to me.....

Brit,
As Jazzy and everyone has told you ALL this is normal. Your body had months to adjust to taking pills and it will just take some days of pain to feel better! It just goes with the process. It sucks that's for sure but that's the way it has to go down. I posted a lot of withdrawl symptoms that you may or may not experience on another post of yours last night, that should help. I can't really think of any other advice I can give you other than hang in there. Everyday is a new day and a day closer to being and staying clean for good. It's all up to you.You WILL get through this and look back on your experiences and then come on this board and share it with ohters. You will be a stronger person in the long run for having gone through this hard time in your life. Remember you can't go back now or you start all over again and that would be horrible huh?One Hour at a time,One day at a time and time does heal.Happy Turkey Day .. Rae

Hi Brit- I feel your pain. Maybe we can get through this together. I too am addicted to Vicoden, Lortab, Norco. I was up to twenty pills a day (easy) 10/500, for about two years now. Not only was this killing my liver, it was destroying my marriage. I have two small children and a loving husband, who just learned of my addiction about a month ago. He has been very understanding and supportive, but the cravings are still there. I just want to be normal, happy and healthy again. All of the w/d symptoms you are having are normal. I can't tell you how long you'll have them. I' m on day one with no "V" and I'm w/d now. Freezing, headache, no energy. Does anyone no of herbs or vitamins I can take to help with energy, mood swings...I'm determined to get through this...this time...
