Withdrawls Hitting High Gear!

Hey thanks again for the responses, the withdrawls are getting pretty intense, and I can't sleep. Soooooo, I'm trying to get caught up on papers due for school, and keep my mind focused. Easier said then done!!! I have 2 days and the news says our blizzard is winding down, so I'm looking forward to getting out of here tomorrow.
My withdrawls so far are in intense jittery or hyper feeling, sweats, not feeling the back pain yet which I've had in the past, and can't eat a thing.....
I'm trying to focus on the goal, thanx for that reminder.
I'm not sure if I told you guys but my ex-husband also passed away suddenly about a month ago, and the kids and I are trying to deal with that too.
This is tough but I can't tell you how much I appreciate the responses!
It does help so much to know your not alone. We are all in counciling (kids and I) but I have not gone to a meeting as we live in the country about 40 miles from a city. But we are in the process of finding a place in the city, so I intend on going as soon as I can.
Thank you all, keep in touch! Jamie
Warm baths help, take as many as you want. Remember to drink as much as you possibly can. The more fluids you can get into you, the faster you'll flush all the drugs out of your system.
It really helped me to listen to music. It was distracting and put me in a positive mood. Attitude plays a big part in how we handle wd. Get excited about it! You're most likely half way finished! Two more days or so to being free. How cool is that? Hang in there, better days are on their way.

Hi Jamie,

You're probably in the owrst part now. Like Kat said, hot baths help so much. Eating carbs just before bed as well. A hot bath and a bowl of oatmeal before bed can get you a few hours of sleep. Melatonin can be helpful as well. HAve you talked to your MD about this? Is he where you get your pills? I bet he can help you. It's always good to talk to your Dr.

I hope your weather improves. I've had way too much snow this last week as well. Just stay the course and in a few days you'll be on the downhill.

Take good care,

Beck
Jamie,

My memory of withdrawal is that I told my family I had the flu and spent the next ten days in the bathtub with my sons' Gameboy. I must have gone through five pounds of epsom salts in the bath -- which will help draw out toxins. In the context of "getting clean," LOL, hell yeah, I was clean -- the only time I ever got out of the bath was to jump into bed and sweat out some more toxins, wrapped in two down comforters.

The only thing I could keep down was tea and dry toast (the first trimester diet, lol). Sleep was an impossible dream.

But it gets better quite quickly. Like Kat and Beck said, drink lots of water. As soon as you can manage it, light exercise -- just a walk around the block in the sun -- will get your natural endorphins going.

I'm sorry about your husband. I'm glad you've sought counseling for your children and yourself.

Hang in there.

Love,
Gina
Jamie...
I am a hard-core addict. I have shot up Diladud and snorted oxycoctin. I went on the Methadone program, because I felt desperate. I am now clean for four weeks. I think the second day is always the hardest. You will feel better soon.

Hang in there Jamie...by day 7-10 you'll start feeling so much better. Really do need to work on the emotional stuff though and that's better done with someone face to face. Does your counselor know that you're an addict?
